@Yamikuronue It looks ok. I don't have a banana to try it out though.

I tried it. It looks like a pancake, tastes like french toast with banana, and has the consistancy of a firm mashed banana.

yum?

7 hours later…
7:59 AM
morning all

Hi Tall.

8:19 AM
hi jojo
how goes it?
@Jolenealaska that was a brief visit...

??
Hi sweetie.

8:34 AM
hi
<looks over shoulder>
You seem distracted :)

I was just thinking about the ELU board.
I love them.

You do?
What have they done to deserve such ardour?

Yep. I'm sorry, ELL not ELU
There is something about incredibly broken English that is just charming.

Perhaps that's why we're all so fond of you Yanks ;)
"Aww, bless them and their vYtamins and their rowts and their skedules"

Your English is so much better than my Mandarin.

8:44 AM
probably debatable
I'm sat here with a dictionary

I spent a year in Seoul. I learned to say please, thank you, hello, goodbye and where is the bathroom.

in Mandarin?
Korean may have been more useful...

Nope, my Mandarin still sucks.
My Korean is better. At least I can find the bathroom.

I understand more languages than I can speak
I can generally get the gist of French, German, Italian, Spanish
a little Japanese

That's funny. I'm such a Myna Bird that I can play it off and have no clue what I just said.
I've ordered strange food that way.

8:56 AM
"Yes, I will have the jellied calf brain"

Thank you. And where is the bathroom?

lol, an excellent question when you've just eaten jellied calf brain
I'm trying to think of how many languages I can ask that in
Ou est la toilette
Wo ist die Toilette
Donde esta el bano
Dove se trova le toilette
Doko ni toire ga aru
though with the latter, you would have to add shite kudasai, somewhat ironically

5 hours later…
1:55 PM
@ElendilTheTall I was amazed when I was in college and was helping with a video project that had interviews in spanish and I realized I didn't need a translator
I took Spanish in high school, but hadn't touched it in 5 years at the time and hadn't been particularly good when I was taking it in high school either
but apparently the words had sunk in to my brain over the time
so I could understand it pretty well, I just can't speak it because I have no vocab recall

8 hours later…
9:53 PM
@ElendilTheTall Sorry I left so abruptly last night! My 'puter locked up.
