@rfusca Well, if you are handly with an iron, I will send you the dead lappy and see if you can resurrect it :-) I just ordered a basic one from Asus via Amazon. I am impressed with my Asus Nexus 7, and my new Asus wireless router, so I thought I would give them a chance. Still that damned chiclety keyboard, but it looks like the keys are at least countoured. I type over 100 wpm, I want a good keyboard!

I am enjoying mine, its big enough for my old eyes to play games, or watch tv in bed, now that I have some decent wireless.

I prop it up with a rolled sock bundle, so I can lay down and watch it.

I do miss the physical Big Three buttons from my samsung phone, but ioverall I am pleased with it.

@rfusca On GEnie many years ago, my name ended in 14 so it was a number easy to remember. So it is my initials, 14 and my initials again. My name is common enough that simpler variants are pretty much always taken, and this lets me use the same id pretty much anywhere since it is almost never (never so far, anyway) already used. Or if it was, it was me, and I can do "forgot password."

I have been using this for a long time so the connection to GEnie is not quite as obscure as it might seem.

IF only they had a decent fry, I might never be able to eat anywhere else, but I loath the waffle-cut fry.

I googled "chick fil a tortilla soup recipe" and got plenty of hits... as to how good they are, that I couldn't say.

But I have a kitty sitting on me right now to ensure my work productivity is not too high, so what do I know?

This was recently, I don't know what I was thinking.

Our mods are also very strong inclusionists.

So I have accepted my closing ways are too far out of the maintsream.

You can see at least one mod has been actively commenting on those questions, without even hinting they are too broad...

A single father and his teenaged daughter who move from NYC to the suburbs and don't fit in. The daugher is the perspective character, and she doesn't fit in and is very snarker. And a terribly cute redhead.
