@Dean Reem was chosen by me, he is the user I think is most able and has the most time/dedication.
I think that makes it easy

I was not receiving any answer of @reem. And I was having my wife and 2 child speaking in my head. But i trust @reem.
I am using IPad now. It is horrible to chat.

Q: Linux: Interface/control 3.5 mm Headphone or Microphone port?

BlenderThis might sound crazy, but bear with me ;) I am making a DIY camera trigger, and I would like to see if I can trigger it remotely by plugging it into my Microphone or Headphone ports. It's a basic 2.5 mm --> 3.5 mm plug, and all I need to do is short the first and last, first and second, and...

That's an old question, but it's off-topic on Unix. Is it suitable for Electronics? If so, flag and claim it.

@Kortuk Sorry the inconvenience. I did it unintentionally. As I said, I was using IPad. I have to learn how to use it to chat.
@W5VO I'm sorry any inconvenience. I was trying to make you laught.
@DanielGrillo do you know how the math latex stuff works for questions?
Hi @Dean! No, I don't.
What's the problem?
Ok i will try it myself as there is a question with some maths in so needs formatting
@Dean I use sandbox in meta to try before edit the question.
18:16
@DanielGrillo i've now edited the question looks better with the latex formatting
@Dean Approved.
@DanielGrillo Thanks

Quick question for anyone that can answer about coil guns:
Are the required voltages and currents low(in the region of up to 5A maximum, and voltages around 20V but could go up to 40V)?
19:05
@Dean No.
You might be able to power one from such a power supply, but only if you used the 5A, low voltage PSU to charge up a capacitor bank.
Supercaps are the name of the game here.
Essentially, you need huge amounts of current across an inductor for a few milliseconds.
Actually, you'd probably want something with more than 40V.
Looks like you'll need some more research.

@reemrevnivek Yeah a kid wants to do it for his A2 systems and control coursework and my teacher asked me to investigate it briefly whether it was feasible as I showed the kid how it could be adapted to the mark scheme
