@NickAlexeev (and others who wish to chime in) -- would a question on why enclosure size matters for the ability of a power distribution block to withstand >10kA of short-circuit current be a better fit here or on DIY.SE?

Hi everybody! Do you think that this question would be {more} on-topic on your site {than on SO}?
@NickAlexeev I do quite a lot of work with PIC32 MX and MZ parts with xc32 if I can help at all?

I am wondering if there is some serious alternative to HDLs to describe hardware.(something that exists or have been tempted in the past)
I am thinking of something graphical but that hides some implementation details and has some kind of abstraction (unlike most regular digital logic simulators, were you have to describe the logic at very low level, like Logisim)

@NickAlexeev Good question. I remember reading a shoot-out between all of the common compilers for regular C, and the Microchip compiler fared very well, even beating others while in demo mode. I was thinking of buying CCS because it looked easy to use, but after reviewing the code size comparisons, decided against it.

@Dev-iL The DSP stack might be even a better fit.
15:40
@NickAlexeev Ah, I haven't considered that site. It does seem like a better fit there. Thanks!

@Dev-iL I agree with Nick, that's probably one for DSP.
@tigrou Schematic capture. But complex deigns take up much more space as schematics than as HDL.

@tigrou There is Verilog-AMS which models analog components, and IBIS models which obfuscate digital models to some extent.
