@Kortuk I have been wanting to get a bench top power supply and a scope, i don't have the time to mess with stuff right now though so I am waiting to spend the money

@Kellenjb For the scope my idea was to take a micrcontroller board that is somewhat over powered and use it to be my oscope for a time.

it is pretty sad, but when compared to making your own microcontroller board, it isnt bad

bench top supplies are a little be more annoying. $80 for a cheap variable voltage with variable current limit... seems like that could be made pretty cheap and still be full featured

@Kellenjb you can get a pretty OP microcontroller board from someone like TI for 200 bucks, and then you get the practice of making an oscope.
