Hello! I wanted to ask if it would be appropriate to ask questions about my laptop on this site. Specifically, someone dropped my laptop while headphones were plugged in. The headphone jack went a little bit into my laptop so I took apart my laptop and I pushed it back out. Now, however, it feels like the sound has deteriorated and I can't hear sounds from my speaker when the headphones aren't plugged in. I suspect that the sensor on the headphone jack is messed up, and wanted schematics for it.

All I really want to know is where the sensor is on the headphone jack (the sensor that tells the computer that headphones are plugged in. I have a Dell Latitude E6430. Should I direct this question to a different Stack Exchange?

@mathguy Sorry, not a good fit for EE. Not sure of the other stacks, but I doubt that sort of knowledge is present.
