So for the last couple of decades the US Mint has been issuing quarters with the back side representing the various US states. I guess they've gone through all 50 of them, so now they are down to territories.
One of this year's represents American Samoa.
The bats there represent the US history of colonization of the area, which was heavily tied into guano mining. At least that was the official excuse.
So if you think 2020 is batshit, it appears that now its official.

I've been wondering: the interminable back and forth with the resource questions seems to mean they shouldn't still be asked on the main site. However, it does seem they would be okay on the Meta. Is this understanding correct insofar as anyone else has read those topics (and I don't want to start another Meta Q to ask this because I'm trying to summarize the content of about five Meta Q's with this quick question)?
