@ThomasPornin Glad I haven't had to gaze upon win8 yet. Astonishing that flash would be able to cause such grief.

@nealmcb I would happily uninstall it and be done with it, unfortunately too many sites would cease working.

But we were just discussing TPM support in various platforms, and I need to see what kind of secure booting we can get in Linux. It was said that win8 does well in that regard.

whole bunch of other sites have seemed to need it, but now that I think of it - should really check this.

I'm building a new machine which will be mostly VM based, so I plan to have flash only on one. The others will be kept clean.

@AviD I thought you were saying you needed win8 for many sites, not flash. But the latter is finally though slowly fading in importance also.

@nealmcb I go by nikoli. We seem to be cordial here, there's just not a lot of activity. We have a couple of high level Resistance guys, and several low level Enlightened. It rather makes it hard to gain AP.

@nealmcb XMP boosters are hard to come by and when most every portal is blue and full up on L7 resonators and maxed up on shields.... About the only way to get AP lately has been hacking.

Yeah, hacking is often overlooked as the best way to get AP early on. And in that situation, there is nothing better than at least one upper-level player to soften up targets for you....

Here we normally say that an upper level can get a lower level up to L4 in several hours, and at L4 you can start taking down lots of portals.

Too bad I can't send xmp remotely. I dumped over a hundred L1 XMP on CU campus last week when I hit the 2000 item limit because I couldn't find anyone to give them to.
