Is there a way to escape stackexchange's automatic replacement of urls with question titles short of putting it in code formatting?
the link towards the top of this answer is clearly supposed to be a url: security.stackexchange.com/a/215879/151903
but I can't find any way to actually do that, besides code formatting

@J.J Has she realized yet how wrong she was?
Ew, I checked her Twitter and it's just as horrible as before. It's all politics.
She gives a bad name to CISSP.

@AndrolGenhald There's a space between the slashes in https://.
And the line above it doesn't have the protocol at all.
That's why it doesn't render. Judging by the answer's content, it's intentional.

@forest I know that :P I'm talking about the "Redacting URLs as an email-phishing preventative?" link
if you edit you can see that it's actually a url that stackexchange automatically converts into the post title
which is nice, but there should be a way to escape that

@AndrolGenhald I fixed it
Ahhhh, you need a space after the [
I wonder if that's intentional behavior
That's a workaround. There's most likely a check in the parser to ensure that in [url1](url2) the two URLs are different.
Actually I'd guessing it checks if url1 is a stackexchange url, but it's fooled by the whitespace
same way it checks if just a url string in the post is stackexchange, but it ignores whitespace there
I tried first with a space at the end: it works the same
It just renders a bit better with the space at the start
oh, yeah, it continues the underlining if it's at the end

Q: Does word store my passwords in plaintext?

Discord expertI have a document which I wrote my passwords in and saved it to my disk, and I have been hearing a lot about programs storing passwords in plaintext Did word store my password I saved in plaintext??? If yes, how do I have a word with it?

i feel like he wrote it just to use that pun :p
Do not attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence.

I honestly feel like it's a troll though
@forest O O F
@forest That's something I haven't thought of yet, fair point!
So is word not a recommanded password manager? I thought since it came from Office, it was certified for work and they have good security I think — Discord expert 49 secs ago
Look at this and tell me that this is a user acting in good faith
@MechMK1 for starters its called word, and it has a save feature. So I figured it could save words, and my passwords are words. So it manages my passwords, I even found a manage button that I am not sure what does yet — Discord expert 25 secs ago
Come on... Look at this and tell me honestly that this user is acting in good faith
Yeah... Looks like a troll.
But I've met persons IRL stupid enough to write this.

What is the right thing to do with troll users? Flag for moderation?
Also in general, if users write something like "Is this true?????????????" with several question marks, I immediately assume it's someone who is trolling

I feel sad for the trolling
When I troll, at least I put in some effort

Q: How to deal with apathetic co-worker?

Robert S.I work in gastronomy in a rather small restaurant. The co-worker I spend most of my work-day around has become more and more apathetic over the past few months. It was a very gradual change, so I am uncertain if it has to do with a specific event. I generally enjoy my job and try to be in a good...

Like, it looks like a serious question to begin with and you need to dig down a bit to get that it's all just a big spongebob meme

Does anyone know if windows has a RDP client that does not lock the remote machine? I am sure I used one a few years back, it looked like a native windows app (the UI was the same, when in view mode the bar would turn green.), but I cant seem to find it via searching.
wait, it may have been this, and it may require SCCM...docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/clients/manage/…

@forest Unfortunately I don't know. I would hope so but sadly she blocked me on Twitter so I can't tell, hah.

Q: Is this password scheme legit?

izlinI received an invitation for an IT security fair (https://www.it-sa.de/en). They additionally delivered a password "Kryptonizer". That is a little card to hang on your keychain with the following (example values, my translation): It is often too easy for hackers to acquire personal informati...

I don't know why it bugs me so much that someone considers this question trolling
Because I understand his concerns. I know this scheme isn't perfect. But to call it straight-out "trolling" is a bit besides the point, in my opinion
