I'm going to figure out what email is as well
or at least, figure out a method of reliably checking all of them without adding them all to my phone
suppose I had best go do my thing
09:26
I'm about to make a big mistake
But I can't help it
I'm too weak to stop myself
I'm going to visit reddit:nosleep... and read all the horrifying creepy stories and then think about them at night, when I'm home alone, in the dark, wrapped inside my blanket, all scared and sweaty.
are you unable to sleep?
@kalina unable to fall asleep if my mind starts thinking about all the scary stuff that's freaked me out
@Kisunminttu ooh - brilliant. Thankyou - I hadn't heard of that one
All of the stories from that "series" (more of a phenomenon, really) are so creepy and awesome
@Kisunminttu read a few - mildly amusing, but they don't creep me out at all
I need a good proper scary story to enjoy the fear
09:42
@RoryAlsop Juust a moment...
I don't like the feeling of fear
no stop distracting me whyamIonredditwtf
@kalina here's a subreddit for those moments when you're feeling bored: reddit.com/r/coolguides
I don't use reddit
ever
don't worry though, chances are with such a blunt and largely irrational refusal to do something that there is an alternative me that uses reddit and never uses stack exchange
@Kisunminttu this is worse than tvtropes.
10:30
I'm glad it isn't as comprehensive as tvtropes

4 hours later…
14:25
Goddammit should I wake up at 8am just for a hat? ponders
14:40
@TerryChia Better reason to wake up than work
@Kisunminttu - mildly puzzling, but no scare... Sorry
:-)
14:56
Hello
Can you help me

Q: Negotiate n-bits key with Diffie-Hellman protocol (or other key exchange protocol)

Ty221I've got ASCII message. I convert it to binary - then I've got 8*(ASCII message length) bits - let us assume this value will be called n. I have to negotiate key, which length (after conversion to binary) will be equal to n. Is there any possibilty to do that? Do I have to choose specific random ...

I didn't help since quite long time
DO you have any ideas
?
15:35
yes
I have lots of ideas
@kalina aren't you meant to be on a plane at the moment?
no
soon(tm)
@kalina wow, last-minutesville
I don't want to arrive too early, I might do something I regret.
like spill coke and then coke down my outfit
@kalina heh
15:38
I'm also attempting to get something in place to automatically send messages to chat at midnight utc
because... hats
I have totally messed up today though, somehow I've went from reddit to tvtropes and basically haven't finished yet
@kalina ahh, good to see you have your priorities right tho'
today was supposed to be nice and relaxing, not spent absorbing tvtropes
you're all a bad influence on me
@kalina hey it was @Kisunminttu who recommended that /r/ place
yes but it's not like you haven't all linked me to one of these places at some point
@kalina hmmm possibly, I did link a collegehumor video the other day
@TerryChia seen it :op
and the fact I'm not logged in to youtube and that vid has an age filter, stops me going on another collegehumour binge :op
right, I suppose I should go drive to the airport
my brain is full of tvtropes, I feel so drained
@RоryMcCune Well, duh. :)
It's still one of my favourites.
Collegehumor has sadly gotten really bad lately.
have a merry new year or whatever you celebrate at the time of celebration for your current geographical location!
not everyone celebrates anything
15:51
those people can ignore my previous statement
yay
thats okay, I usually do anyway
@TerryChia minesweeper is still one of the best ever.
@AviD Ahh I think I remember that one.
I actually like the space troopers series a lot.
@TerryChia Happy New Year :)
@RоryMcCune \o/
16:01
Happy New Year @TerryChia and the rest of Singapore!
and others in that timezone or earlier ones ...
Hello. I heard recently about Steve Gibson's SQRL. I wanted to ask about the security of this, but I see that this older question exists: security.stackexchange.com/questions/43374/… Is it appropriate to basically ask this same question again here a year later? I am wondering if there has been changes that would change the answer.
@Thomas No changes. Steve Gibson is still a raving idiot.

@AviD: I had noticed this: youtube.com/watch?v=PtfFwOYxCnc . Is this just more of the same and nothing new?
@Thomas sorry I dont have enough built-up stupidity to be able to watch that.
16:10
@TildalWave Freehand circles +1.
But I assume its nothing new.
@AviD: I didn't mean that you should watch it. I was just wondering if there where anything new about it (something that might have caused the talk to take place).
@AviD: Yes, I have already seen that page (it still seems a bit outdated though).
yeah, sorry, havent bothered looking into that rat hole lately.
Are you behind the site?
@Thomas huh?
16:15
@AviD: Are you behind the page: attrition.org/errata/charlatan/steve_gibson ?
behind?
oh dod you mean if I wrote it? hehe, nooo....
@AviD: Yes, I mean: did you write it?
Ok
16:28
@RoryAlsop Thanks for the bounty!
huh. @Iszi @ScottPack - just had a brilliant idea for a several-episode arc for next season of #Scorpion. He meets up with Gibson, first seeing him as a rival/enemy, and then they come to realize they are they same, and become best BFF friends foreevsies.
Then you can have a spinoff starring Gibson hisself.
17:25
Eyyy waddup everyone
@RoryAlsop Man. You're a tough one. Any particular scary thing that makes you shiver?
18:15
@kisu - The Shining. The first time I watched Event Horizon (when Kylie Minogue want distracting me) and the first time I saw Alien. They were quite scary
@Xander - no worries
@kisu - I enjoy a good suspense horror, but for horrors don't do anything for me. At all.
Saw - bag of crap nonsense with a plot so transparent my 5 year old nephew could see through it. If I let him watch the bad special effects gore

1 hour later…
19:25
@AviD What are you on about?
@RoryAlsop I haven't seen Event Horizon in about 15 years. I remember it being pretty damn well done scary.
19:38
ok, I want to punch someone at Baracuda in the face right now for being retarded
so they have a "secure e-mail delivery" feature, which gives you a link to their site to and they have you enter a password the first time
if you click a link in the future for the e-mail attachments sent that way, it asks for the password... ok, that kind of makes sense
if you forget the password, they send you a link to reset your password
someone please tell me how that makes any sense
at all
20:18
hey @ScottPack what's with the dislike of the worlds greatest prgramming language :op

1 hour later…
21:19
@RоryMcCune I was up until 3am this morning fighting with Jekyll to get it to run.
Apparently there's a bug in 2.2.0 wherein YAML processing tries to use syck and there's an issue wherein the syck processor dies on startup.
I also found another typo in the liquid gem where they have a duplicate key-value definition which, again, causes the interpreter to hard stop.
I'm going home now.
21:37
@ScottPack ouch :(

Let's be reasonable I don't spend holidays AT THE OFFICE
@LucasKauffman huhwhut?
Why not Lucas? Spend it in the new York office.
22:24
@RоryMcCune 10/10
I'll need to mingle a bit more with the Americans for that. Also we are centered in Houston for infosec and not Ny :(
22:46
Still Houston? I meet the guys from there one year - as we sponsored Black Hat - but never visited
23:29
happy new effin' year to the AMS/BER timezone
@Lighty Happy New Year @Lighty @LucasKauffman @Gilles @Adnan @Kisunminttu

23:37
Everyone forgets the Faroe Islands, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Shetlands these days! :(

hmmm Gibraltar is actually CET, odd
OK, OK, I'll shuddup and drink more
happy 2015th birthday america! -facebookgirl
An event for getting a hat? I'll be damned...
What about Orkney, @TildalWave?
@RoryAlsop shit yes Orkney too!! :))))
23:51
Will you, @Waffle'sCrazyPeanut? Will you really?
@RoryAlsop No, virtually... (pfft... People are interested in "damning" me!) :P
I've missed India's New Year... I'm not gonna miss the "New years" on other time zones...
post a chat message within the next 10 minutes that gets starred and win a free hat!
@kalina hello @kalina's bot! It works!!
starred?
who said they have to get starred?
> "Rarely does tech make our lives easier and safer at the same time."
- Geoffrey A. Fowler, Wall Street Journal
23:57
damn you have to get a star
oh that's cheating
now I have to say something funny or interesting :(
Happy new year @kalina - I'm assuming you'll be busy entertaining to chat actually at the bells
Stars all round then @TildalWave?
@RoryAlsop absolutely! :) And you get ready for your new year too!
2 mins. The hootenanny is on one tv and Jackie Bird is on the other!
