@RoryAlsop rolf harris
whats his face jim'll fix it
this guy
michael jackson
@kalina we all assumed Jim was anyway
@Kisunminttu It's probably the fault of some polar bears.
at some point humanity bred a generation of paedos
the real question is, is the current state of "feminism" directly related
@Kisunminttu Having something send over from the US isn't much better. My ex-girlfriend once bought me an xkcd t-shirt for christmas, It arrived barely on time for my birthday (end of march).
@Simon Damn polar bears, stealing jobs from honest Canadians and just slacking off at the job...
@Arperum Oh wow
16:02
Last time I ordered something from the Netherlands, I got it in less than a week.
You guys are donuts.
@Kisunminttu I tend to get my present horribly late. My sister got me my birthday present for this year in august, granted, she was half a world away the whole time, and when she came back her luggage took a month extra to be send from Paris to Belgium because it got lost at the airport.
@Adnan Mistletoe above / So I kisses the misses / Then look for my wife
@Arperum Bad Luck Brian, present edition...
And I expect a present for my birthday at christmas too. Because my godmother keeps forgetting.
@Kisunminttu The presents are pretty awesome every time tough.
@Arperum Pony?
PONIES
I want a pony
I wonder how much one would cost
and then food
and then stables
and then training
16:06
@kalina Ponies... with glitter
and then GLITTER OMG
raz
raz
All that glitters is gold
glitter pony
@Kisunminttu I got an alpaca wool sweater from my sister, it's really warm, and doesn't itch at all.
@raz I can assure you my silver glitter is not gold
@Arperum Alpaca... with glitter
16:06
even if it were gold glitter, it wouldn't be gold
didn't they use to sell glitter pills so your pony could piss rainbows or something?
I'm hungry
actually I don't think I'm hungry
I think I have the munchies
@kalina I was literally just thinking this when you posted
it's like hunger except I'm not hungry
easy to confuse with thirst as well
@Kisunminttu Please no. I still find glitter from some creative thing my ex did 1.5 years ago. And I moved in the meantime...
16:07
although I am actually probably thirsty
@Arperum That's glitter for ya
@Kisunminttu I know, and I don't want even more.
@Arperum I am going to send you a glitter bomb
@Noordung they are selling glitter pills that humans can take!
it's like a bomb, except instead of destroying everything in the immediate vicinity, it covers it with glitter
16:10
There is a club night at one of the venues we usually play at that provides every form of glitter
@RoryAlsop I know but wouldn't that make them pony safe too? :)
It's called Glitterbomb
sounds like a good event
@Noordung dunno. Dogs can die from eating chocolate.
even if the music is noise
just because of the glitter
16:10
@kalina looks good fun, but not my kind of music
Can they die from eating donuts?
@RoryAlsop chocolate is poisonous to humans too
@Simon yes
@Noordung Poor souls.
I'm bored
bored I am bored
16:12
I need to pee.
bored bored bored
booooooooooooooooooooooooreeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd
pee pee pee
raz
raz
She said "bored" Everyone take a shot!
pppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
curtsy
raz
raz
16:12
Oh dear God... that's a lot of shots.
that would be an epic game
but entirely unfair
in order for bored to result in a shot, I'd have to take a shot as well, so that the game eventually ended
but I don't drink
@kalina That means you know or need to find out where I live.
@Arperum I know everything, even the things I've told you I don't know
@kalina Sounds boring. Knowing everything can only be boring.
@Arperum hence my boredom
16:14
So... if I know that you don't know the things you've told people you don't know, does that mean you don't know the things you've told people you don't know?
no, because you've made an assumption that is contrary to the facts already presented
I would have hoped that your other two clients/users/puppets/imaginary friends being banned would have chilled you out a bit
they're not my clients, just my friends ;p
'chilled me out a bit
even tho i wasn't trolling at all
@Gerwin And that's why you aren't banned.
anyway, hometime.
@Arperum poor you
I think it's about time to get out of bed proper
and sit at my desk
What's a bed proper?
16:18
@kalina Not really, going to my parents, free food!
Although if I could find someone who would pay me to play games and doesn't mind that I play at night, that'd be awesome.
I don't need a professional game player at this time
@kalina Most people don't need someone like that. Especially if said player isn't even close to worldtop in any game genre, nor really interested in competitive gaming.
@Arperum you could easily declare that every Q&A tester for every games company in the world is a professional game player
@Arperum Thanks for that :)
@kalina If I post a comment now and delete it, does it count towards the hat?
I'm assuming it does, just making sure.
17:04
16 hats @@@
17:30
@Simon I think you're thinking of 16 candles.
thats your favorite movie, right?
wadafuk is dat
did I miss stuff? I think I missed stuff.
so, that sore throaght thats been making me cranky?
frikkin laryngitis.
right after the penumonia. I'm starting to think I'm not invulnerable anymore.
I was sick for like a month total this summer so I decided that I'm not gonna be sick for at least a year.
I would usually go for a couple years in between getting sick. this is the first time in many years that Ive been sick so much.
youtube.com/watch?v=ktpQENm6A3Q this is harsh... (sorta NSFW)

Q: What Man-made Physical Threat Could Pose Severe Danger to a Server Farm?

An Author with a QuestionI am writing a novel in which a researcher attempts to work against a study he is a part of by purposely sabotaging operations on the research compound. I am wondering if the following is plausible. "Bob" starts a small fire in the server farm containing the primary servers for data collection ...

I don't get it, what's off-topic about this?
Water damage in our bathrooms. Because why the fuck not.
Welcome to the club. If you're lucky, you won't have to spend 3 weeks out of your apartment.
@Gilles Well, it's asking for plot advice, which while it may have an InfoSec component, is not an InfoSec question. I supposed Too Broad might be just as (or perhaps more) applicable. But asking for scenarios that could cause damage to a data center is not a good Q&A candidate.
@Gilles It's talking about securing your human assets -- better suited for workplace SE maybe?
@Xander Yes, I could understand too broad. But how is it not an infosec question? It's about protecting an IT asset from a threat.
18:00
I think it's the definition of "security" that is not the same.
This one is about the physical security of the data.
And it's also not for a security purpose --- it's for a fictional scenario
I hope all my breach response protocols remain fictional scenarios. That doesn't make them not security related.
no i mean the server farm in question doesn't actually exist -- the asker is a writer by trade :)
Anyway, it is a security question, I agree that it's off-topic because of the Q&A.
18:04
@Gilles Not really...It's asking specifically if an imaginary threat makes sense in the real world (it doesn't) and then more broadly asking the community to create an open-ended list of potential threats. In hind-sight, I guess it fits with some of the other "does this movie-plot device actually exist in the real world" questions we've had, so off-topic may indeed be wrong..It probably should have been too broad.
18:31
@Xander You're a movie-plot.
@Simon I reject your slanderous label, and challenge you to a duel, sir.
18:59
how long have you been saving that
Saying what?
learn to read
Oh sorry, there's a 2 mm difference between both words you donut.
font and layout has nothing to do with how a word is spelt, you donut.
I'm tempted to post a question on app, then answer it.
That'd get me 2 hats.
I could then delete both since I have nothing legit to post.
19:02
I'm tempted to unleash my army of puppets to downvote everything you've ever posted into oblivion if you cheat at hats
And comment the shit out of it then delete for a 3rd hat.
Tsk.
it seems like the hats are designed for maximum spamming
hats are designed with Stack Overflow in mind, with very little consideration for the less active web sites
at least this year there are no fucking retarded "ask/answer 30 things"
I like things.
idk, i'm waiting for the "post for yer hats here" questions to pop up
19:05
Does deleting comments on meta counts as the main site?
@Simon only if they get upvoted
@Gilles Really? It doesn't say they have to be upvoted in the hats description.

A: Why didn't (or did) I or some other user get a hat although the requirements were (or weren't) fulfilled?

balphaLeeway on date-based hats Unless the requirement mentions a specific timezone, hats that are date-based are often awarded for 12 hours before and 13 hours after the specified date in UTC, to accomodate people everywhere in the world. This means you can earn such a hat even though for you it's no...

@Gilles Ah, cheers.

VA I do these days a good percentage of the vulns are SSL related and the scanners don't generally rate unencrypted connections as that bad.... this is very stupid
@kalina True, I'm not one though :( And there aren't all that many jobs for game testing relatively speaking.

jayNowadays individuals are witnessing the task, when because of constant and overwhelming technical advance as well as internet, there appear additional services that help the excellence of the produced job, improve the speed from the working process and give the employees with far more flexibility...

Channeling @Simon: Wat?

@Noordung You're being incredibly rude about this, especially for a moderator. :( Well my first foray onto your particular Stack Exchange beta has certainly not been a pleasant experience... — Lightness Races in Orbit 5 mins ago
aaand my day is complete :)))
> I haven't set out to be "combative"
Heh, yet you continue to argue...
23:43
@DavidFreitag She (he?) is missing the point ... that isn't an answer however you might wanna look at it. E.g. OP didn't suggest in the question how we might achieve that, merely why didn't we. I don't really think other answers there are much better but at least they're not merely opinions. For example, we've just discovered methane in Martian atmosphere (hours ago), but we'll still send a biodome experiment there. Measures will be taken to assure no forward-contamination takes place. Ad nauseam
@Noordung Yeah pretty much. I have seen similar activity from that user on several sites.
Needless to say, we already forward-contaminated the Moon. There's just nothing there to be bothered by it. Again, OP doesn't even suggest where we should send samples ...
We should turn the moon into a giant CO2 scrubber
Then everyone can have a land rover.
@DavidFreitag We get a lot of well established SO members that haven't a clue what constitutes a helpful answer on SE sites that might be a bit more contextual (for lack of a better word). Often, they expect royal treatment and can't get over it if they don't get it. Frankly, I couldn't give a toss about his/her C++ skills in a question that doesn't require any.
@DavidFreitag it has been suggested before :)
@Noordung Heh, seriously. You may be a 130K+ rep, but you're acting like a child.
23:54
@DavidFreitag I also don't really get it why some think that moderation is a popularity contest. It's actually quite the opposite. If you're not in a dispute with a mod then you're doing OK. Otherwise, you're not doing OK. Courtesy is optional and mods are pretty much the last ones on some site to have the time for it, if they're doing their job.
@Noordung To be honest, you were perfectly courteous up until the person started to argue with you.
@Noordung Courtesy is not optional, especially for mods. As a mod, you're supposed to remain courteous even when the other person isn't, up to and including while suspending them.

I know. Anyway ... methane on Mars how about that huh?
@Noordung gee, is NASA lobbying for its 2015 budget?
@Gilles psst that's supposed to be a trade secret!!
