@AviD It was A Pentium II with 350 MHz of RAM, sir.
sometimes we'll get crazy and pop one of the kids discs into the car stereo, and then we have to suffer through one direction or the like.
@tylerl haha, yeah!
@Simon 350 MHz of ram? lol think you might want to edit the stupid out of that.
4
@DavidFreitag he cant! it says "Simon" on the side...
@DavidFreitag OH MY GOD, ROUGLY.
00:02
@AviD Very true. But he could at least try
We had 256 and added a 128 slip.
NOOBS.
@DavidFreitag he could try, but it would not work. probably.
@Simon I hope you're kidding. MHz (Megahertz) is not a measurement of memory capacity.
@DavidFreitag Fuck me.
WHATEVA
@Simon you keep asking.
00:02
It was in 99.
FUCKING MEGABYTES
@Simon yes, but you wrote that in 2013.
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?
there, ftfy. happy?
wat
@Simon 350 Megahertz was likely the clock speed of the CPU. It may have been the bus frequency of the RAM, but i doubt it.
00:04
MEGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGAWIENERS.
woops, fixed it for @DavidFreitag
@DavidFreitag Not likely. 33 MHz prolly if it's 1999.
@tylerl this.
@tylerl What for the CPU or the ram bus speed?
The Pentium II brand refers to Intel's sixth-generation microarchitecture ("P6") and x86-compatible microprocessors introduced on May 7, 1997. Containing 7.5 million transistors (27.4 million in the case of the mobile Dixon with 256 kB L2 cache), the Pentium II featured an improved version of the first P6-generation core of the Pentium Pro, which contained 5.5 million transistors. However, its L2 cache subsystem was a downgrade when compared to Pentium Pros. In early 1999, the Pentium II was superseded by the Pentium III. In 1998, Intel stratified the Pentium II family by releasing the ...
233-450MHz clock speeds bruh.
@DavidFreitag I think the FSBs of 1999 ran at 33. then 66, then 100, then 133
00:06
@tylerl Yeah, i figured you meant the ram frequency. Just to make sure ;]
They see me failin', they nerdin'.
And Wikipedia has Pentium II FSB's at 66/100 depending on the model.
But yeah.
Really like the opener.

4 hours later…
03:55
sweet mercy, make that damn gif go away
Aaah.. yay for DOM editors.
The transcript was.... interesting..
I've been looking at the gif for an hour now.
@TerryChia You noticed the little kerfuffle?
8 hours ago, by Lucas Kauffman
@Adnan and @kalina can both of you please shake the sand out of your vaginas. Either ignore each other or be nice. Stop arguing. Now!
Can this be pinned?
@tylerl Yes, /sigh
@Simon being stupid about Mhz was funny though.
@TerryChia It's got a bit more twisted meaning when one of them actually has one.
03:58
@tylerl Heh.
@paste that a new avie?
Yeah, now I'm a cat.
@paste Now we have two cats in The DMZ. This is getting out of hand.
@TerryChia who's the other?
@tylerl @AJHenderson. He hangs around at times.
04:03
But he's a real cat.

2 hours later…
06:19
@paste tiggers eat cats.
Any d-link owners here?
@AviD i've got one here on my desk
@tylerl time to update...
not sure if it's vulnerabile or not, but it's only acting like a local access point (not router)
or better yet, have fun with it.
one of the few APs I own that I haven't soldered anything on to
06:31
heh
@tylerl youre up pretty early, arencha?
you mean late?
11:30p
ah
heh
which makes me think you must be up pretty early
naw man, I'm UTC+3.
at least till next week.
and I have a smaggle of little kids, so if I get to sleep soundly past dawn it's all good.
Mine is one of the few sane localities in teh world
who doesn't change our clocks
06:33
no, @TerryChia's is - no changing clocks
@tylerl wait, what? In the US??
I would hardly call that a sane place.
oh?
I think thats the one state that tries hard to emulate Australia, which as we all know, is God's playground for creating weird shit to torment Hell with.
actually never been there, honestly have no idea... :-)
Australia?
06:40
well, neither, actually - only heard 2nd and 3rd hand
I'm not 100% certain australia actually exists.
2
sounds pretty far-fetched to me
@tylerl heh, exactly.
06:56
@AviD booo. Not vulnerable.
downgrade.
this model is missing the backdoor feature

2 hours later…
09:06
I reeeeallly still want to know who went ape-shit with the flags yesterday.
In the @Simon incident, I flagged one of his messages only once, for fun, because his message contained a mention of flags.
Yesterday, I received more than 12 flags.
My reaction to the whole incident, for all involved:
@AviD But but but, tigger, this shows me that people on the Internet hate me :(
...
I'm now just like @Kalina and @Simon
@AviD Oh, I was looking for more of a "WTF" reaction.
btw watching this now:
just cuz.
> NASCAR is a sport that's easy to follow when you're hammered.
09:15
Whoa! We're only 9 tags away from being eligible for the Generalist badge.
> Young lady, you look more delicious than mayonaaise ooozing out of a spaaaam sandwich.
Two of those tags are and
@Adnan two of the 9?
@AviD Yup
I mean to say that those two tags are quite easier to fill than, say,
wait a sec, what tags needed why? I'm confused.
I remember there is some site requirements before that badge is activated, but dont remember.
09:18
and check the last 2 rows
All the tags in this page need to have at least 200 questions
We still have 9 tags under 200
xss and http are only 198 and 197
> there must be at least 200 questions in all 40 of the top tags before this badge is awarded to anyone
So, basically, we're just 7 tags away.
@Adnan you mean 13.
@Adnan plus one row on the next page.
09:22
@AviD God damn it!! I thought each page is 10 rows
good morning ladies!
and @Adnan
no, they do that just to screw with you.
Well, F this, then.
We're still quite far
@TildalWave Morning
Also, I've just checked, it seems that everybody with 10k+ rep is eligible for the Generalist badge.
Ah, I thought it would be more exclusive.
09:38
@Adnan well, as a site we are quite heavily tipped, rep-wise, towards the top few tags. So any high rep user is likely to have achieved a decent chunk of that rep, in those few top tags. Statistically, odds are good that would be the case, even if not definite.
it would be interesting to see the actual rep-achieved-ratio per tag.
hmm, it should be possible to do on data.se, just not simple at all.
@AviD I'll have a crack at it tonight.
heh, good luck.
cripes, I'm going to have to debug your sql, aren't I.
@AviD Yeaap
Actually, I've always wanted to know this. Apparently, up until the last Data.SE update, our site has a total of 2,883,998 rep points.
how did you calculate that?
per post, or per user?
@AviD User
@AviD SELECT SUM(Reputation) FROM Users
09:44
cool. but that would not be useful in relation to tags.
@AviD Oh no, I just wanted to know it
should probably calc that in relation to posts, but ignore bounties, accepted, rep loss for downvotes, etc.
@Adnan and @Thomas only has 30% of that.
hmm, actually this gets complicated - because you only have the final score per post, but dont know if there were downvotes there, so you cant calculate an accurate rep.
still, it would be interesting information. "the most profitable tags"...
How much of the total site rep each of the top users own.
I'd subtract 101 from each user's rep
@CodesInChaos then you would need to subtract that from the total too.
@Adnan scool.
09:55
obviously
The whole idea is to avoid 101 rep users inflating the total
@CodesInChaos so ignore users that have 101 rep from the total.
@CodesInChaos Incorrect. You're assuming that 100% of the users here came while having 125 rep on another site.
Many of the users came here and this was their first site.
It doesn't matter if it's the first site
it only matters if they have enough on any other site
@Adnan thought it was 200?
> Incorrect. You're assuming that 100% of the users here came while having 125 rep on another site.
@AviD Correct, 200.
10:00
technically, you should also ignore the myriad of users with only 1 rep, too.
but include those who didnt get the assoc bonus, but gained exactly 100 rep...
@AviD Nope. Everybody here started with 1 rep.
@Adnan I meant, exactly 1 rep right now.
@AviD Still doesn't matter.
@Adnan it would if there were 10000 of them!
@AviD Nope
10:02
When you exclude the first 101 points per user, the total is only 1246555
Give everybody 1000 more rep, recalculate the totals -> you'll still have the same percentage
@Adnan It's enough if you earn it later
@CodesInChaos just count the people with posts
its not about ignoring the rep, its about excluding those users.
@ManishEarth oh thats good.
@ManishEarth You could still have 10 zero-scored posts and have your 101 assoc
10:03
posts with positive score.
I don't want to exclude those users, I want to exclude association bonus
SELECT SUM(IIF(Reputation>101,Reputation-101,0)) FROM Users
@CodesInChaos then youre excluding users with 65 rep.
hmm right
@ManishEarth's solution is best, and dont exclude the assoc bonus.
@CodesInChaos I don't get it. You're still excluding users who didn't get association bonuses.
10:04
its trivial, anyway.
Oh... NSFW and all that
Filtering assoc bonus roughtly halves the total rep
@CodesInChaos Whoa! Query, please. Very interesting
@CodesInChaos and what is the effect if you filter users with no upvoted posts?
Actually, I'd look to know the difference on the percentages
10:11
@CodesInChaos this could only be true if the number of bonus only users is huge. thus, filtering those, would have roughly the same effect.
and be more accurate (as far as %ages go).
Morning @RoryAlsop ;)
@TildalWave good morning
haven't seen you elsewhere (not in DMZ) in a while... you're keeping busy?
@TildalWave yeah - has been a bit busy, then I took the October long weekend away with the family - and had very poor connectivity
So I've been getting some modding, and a bit of chat, but not much time to think of answers
@RoryAlsop I'd say the last part is a good thing
10:16
@Adnan Didn't find a perfect query yet. But some approximations:
`SELECT SUM(IIF(Reputation>=101,Reputation-101,Reputation-1)) FROM Users` returns `1327464`
`SELECT SUM(Reputation) FROM Users where reputation!=101` returns `1758353`
Been slowly getting my astronomy rep up though. It is ahead of Area51 now in my rep chart, and catching SF and SO
@CodesInChaos The first is quite a huge difference.
@RoryAlsop yeah I don't have as much time either lately, even have a few of my answers marked by myself to rewrite (some questions changed or were later clarified)... one of these days... you know, this decade of thereabouts :)
@RoryAlsop Oh, I meant, you know, family, less disturbance, more family time.
@Simon @DavidFreitag you wanted good music - this is pure awesome, perfect for background music while working. /cc @RoryAlsop
11th has the best theme.
make sure you listen all the way till the end...
10:24
@AviD ten hours?
@RoryAlsop lol
its on loop
I have it playing off a different machine than the one I'm working on....
@AviD me too
makes me want to climb stuff.
Congrats @LucasKauffman !!!
@TildalWave it says there is video proof of beer drinking...?
10:31
hehe yes... we'll ask for our "proof" when he recoups from it LOL
he's now 100% proof himself prolly :)
And I probably landed on all intelligence agencies' lists for this CTF too, but hey ~ 50 points is worth it no? :D
all the countries we managed to send requests in from LOL
@TildalWave What was the challenge here?
> This challenge is a special challenge. You can collect some minor extra points here by proving that you are a truly international player. Each time you visit your reference URL from a different country, that flag will be activated and you gain an additional point. You already have 108/222 points.
@TildalWave Oh yeah, for loop and cURL on proxylist.txt :D
@Adnan yeah kinda like that... I did it manually tho, I couldn't be arsed to write a loop that would be mostly timeout ridden with dead proxies
@TildalWave We got 108
10:46
OK semi-manually... I did a loop per each country that I fed it the list
@ManishEarth not all was from me tho, I came in late ;)
CA sucks.
@TildalWave ah
in Security.SE CTF Team, 1 min ago, by ManishEarth
@LucasKauffman You may want to add a writeup of the effort that went into the beer vid :>
@ManishEarth So I'm not the only one on the NSA list now :D
/me waiting for that
@AviD Nooo! :O
10:49
@AviD hehe best anti-lawsuit disclaimer ever: "Copyright BBC I Donot own anything"
