Well. This is frustrating. Other blokes told me they couldn't update Xcode 5.0.1 until after they upgrade to 10.9. Clearly I did it before. Inconsistency is the one truism.
@lynks I think what I really like about this is that it's not me rejoining a session isn't as dependent on my SSH connection staying up, you can explicitly reply to specific messages, responses don't get lost during inactivity, and you can edit.
@ScottPack yeah replying is good, that was always missing from irc. use screen to help with your ssh issues, and you can script irssi to do whatever you like, including say, appending responses to a file.
@Simon Oh in your case I'd talk you out of it, I think the life long torture of being you is better than my momentary gratification from pushing you over the edge
I think a certain level of OS enlightenment occurs when one realises that OSs are tools; you pick the right one for the job. Same goes for programming languages. I use VMs a lot for this reason.
