Someone brought in this bread this morning. The only way i can explain it is, it's like pepperjack bread. It has jalapenos and roasted red peppers in it, delicious.
@rorym - I can tell, the temp has dropped six degrees and the sun has gone away. I see I need to rebuild some portals - Sainsburys went despite me remote charging it.
@RoryAlsop yeah I was in town this morning and it had all gone blue! Burned all my bursters on one of them but as a lowely L3 it wasn't enough to have much impact!
@CodesInChaos You can put the other half of the blame on people who think in terms of "I want the string to be 'encrypted' because then the string will be 'secure'".
Your point is noted. We are going to try a slightly different rep formula on chat, to see how it pans out... Getting a true "is this 100 from the rep-bonus" on every site is... somewhat complicated, and probably unnecessarily subtle. Our thought now is basically: once you start getting rep above ...
Btw, @Ammar here is a fellow Syrian. He has good experience with security, algorithm complexity, and he's also a math freak. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of good answers around Sec.SE by him.
I'm currently working on a new project, and an issue struck me.
Is it it safe to disclose your password requirements? If so, why is it safe?
I have a function that does validation on a password and each step shows the user why validation does not work.
Here is my function:
public function ...
Hmmm.. now that I think about it, I see that those are two shades of the same color. I'm not aware of any color blindness that would prevent a person from seeing the difference between the two.
I DID IT I WIN!!!! FUCK YOU TOSHIBA ! YOU TOLD ME I CAN'T I SAID FUCK YOU AND DID IT. @DavidFreitag I would like to thank you for your help and support that was so greatly needed through this livng hell.
When I'm genuinely not getting something I can seem like a total dick >.>
@TildalWave Lol not in this field. Like I sit here and I'm just like "Oh that's cool. I have no clue what you're talking about let me google it. Oh wait let me take a 2 week adventure trying to understand all the stuff that allows me to understand this"
@Griffin most of the reviewing is not about who's right and who's wrong, or if it's possible e.t.c. ... that's for the vote and flagging system, most of it is pure moderation, ie. suitability, language,...
I think microsoft makes their server administration utilities so convoluted on purpose, that way and attacker really needs to know how to screw someone over.
Whoever came up with the "Action Panel" should be shot. Its uselessness is astounding.
Some say, "Why would you want to write 16bit code when you could write 64bit?" I answer, "Because you can't get to long mode without being in real mode."
@ton.yeung Whenever I see 'Pay as you want', I always pay the lowest amount possible. If it's possible to get away with not paying at all, sign me up for it.
@DavidFreitag More seriously: 8086 and x86_32 are different architectures that happen to both be supported by some popular CPUs. If you're compiling for 8086, you need a (cross-)compiler that targets 8086, not a compiler that targets x86_32 or x86_64
we should encourage more physical security questions
last time when we did that contest there were only a handful
I don't know how to do that. No relevant content → no experts → no good answers → not attractive to experts → not attractive to askers → complete the circle
so my current lobbying projects are: get sec.se to officially endorse physical security
get travel.se to officially endorse expat questions (actually, I'm not sure about this one, I just want it to be discussed instead of assumed)
a really ambitious project would be to get SU to accept all computer questions
except when I have a Windows question, and even that is like pulling teeth
Q: “I want to do X. I tried method M but it didn't work.” A: “Try method M.” C: “I already tried that, I mentioned it in my question.” C: “Y U downvote?”
I did get real help on SU twice though: twice the maintainer of the software I was asking about saw my question and made a feature/bugfix in response
