I want to learn and understand the tantric aspect of the vaidyanatha swaroopam. I am pretty sure that a specific mantra, dhyana, and other angopangas of the mantra should exist for this shaivic manifestation
I'm looking for scriptural info about Guhya Kali and Smashan Kali with translations if possible (Yogini Tantra and the like.) As in what the Tantra background/stories are for these forms of Kali, and what the sadhana methods/techniques are, if possible. I'm of Shakta faith.
I've realized I often ...
The verse I am talking about is this.
kṛṣṇa-varṇaṁ tviṣākṛṣṇaṁ
sāṅgopāṅgāstra-pārṣadam
yajñaiḥ saṅkīrtana-prāyair
yajanti hi su-medhasaḥ
The above verse from Srimad Bhagavatam (11.5.32) was cited by Gudiya Vaishnavas to prove Caitanya's avatarhood. Both Krishnadas Kaviraj (the author of Caitany...
In Sanathan dharma, there are four varnas: Brahmin, Kshetriya, Vaishya and Shudra. It is well known that, in general, Kshatriyas and other orders pay respect, and give honour to Brahmins due to their lifestyle and several other aspects.
One such expression of honour can be seen in the Mahabharath...
@Optimus I respect PVR garu and consider him Guru and learn Jyotishya from his old videos. He's true regarding Uttarayana and Dakshinayana but not sure about lunar months. Scriptures clear say in Chaitra masa, moon will be in Chitra Nakshatra during full-moon days.
@Optimus Also, if you can understand Telugu, he have said different thing in other video
@TheDestroyer bro, I also learned everything I know about Astronology and most of Astronomy from him. So I consider him one of my Gurus. But this is his latest video.
@TheDestroyer yes Chaitra is full moon in Chitra. But it also says Chitra is a month which has Vernal Equinox. The first part is true and second part is false today. So we need not call the new month Chitra, but whatever festivals we celebrated in Chitra should be celebrated in the month which Vernal Equinox, we can keep the same name. I have asked him the same thing on twitter
@Optimus Some say Madhu, Madhava are tropical names and Chaitra, Vaisakha are sideral months
This makes more sense actually
Let me send that Telugu clip of him..but not sure if you can understand
let's also see description from Ramayana. Ramayana clearly uses Chaitra Navami and also observe positions of Sun and moon..Sun will be mostly at end of Meena and moon in karka..So, this also shows Chaitra is sideral month with no dependance on seasons.
But Kalki Purana says Kalki will be born in Madhu masa..
This is interesting to see word madhu instead of Chaitra
Lagna of Bharata is Pisces as he's born during Sunrise time which is understandable.
@TheDestroyer I know you won't like what I have to say, but the Ramayana we have today is probably interpolated heavily. Raimy season starts in Shravana. Which only happens after 1500 BC. It mentions Rashis. No other scripture mentions Rashi by name except modern books like Puranas. There is simply no example. Rashis like Pisces, Aries are not mentioned anywhere. Puranas are so interpolated and modern we don't know what is what. Especially Kalki which is not from the main 18 ones
Chaitra or any Nakshatra named month has to be Sidereal, you are correct in that. The moment Nakshatra comes into question it becomes sidereal.
@TheDestroyer My main problem is that we are celebrating main important festivals wrongly.
I've learnt that certain vegetables are avoided (Onion, Garlic, beetroot etc) on Shraddham/Tharpanam days for 2 reasons:
They are Aphrodisiac in natured
They are grown under the land
Can someone say, what is the story or what is the significance of mentioning the second point?
Or like, why shou...
