Q: What is the basis for worshipping Sai Baba? Are there are references to him in the Vedas or other Vedic literature?

Vineet MenonRecently, Dwarka Shankaracharya, Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati stirred controversy by claiming that since Shirdi Sai was a human and that there are no mention of him any Hindu scripture, he shouldn't be worshipped. Is there any basis for his allegation? Does Hindu scripture prohibit worship of hum...

11:26 AM
@Panibotal What is your point? I am aware of Sai Baba not being a Hindu

youtu.be/v5wEVpkNujI see his claims in why sai baba shouldnt be worshipped

@Panibotal His claim is not accurate.
If you look at our history, Maratha region was of hard-core Hindus.
Islam had very LESS chances to grow there because Maratha kings were powerful.
The only way to invade this region was invading from Hindu Practices.
Sai Baba was an instrument to make it happen.
But then this history can be wrong too because over the period of time he managed to make a very good number of followers
And who can really verify? NO-ONE!

@TheLittleNaruto ya I wrote a long mail in Hindi
@TheLittleNaruto 1. 2-3 Yajnashalas (Since they’re planning a goshala), 2. Vedic school like Tirupati for Brahmins of the temple somewhat like tirupati (I write he could keep this on hold for the time being); 3. Make a dense tree covered pathway from Sarayu to the temple.
4. Having Ramayana / Puranic themed sculptures like lots of old temples do and 5. Of course my shikhara suggestion
