1. For the stories found in Puranas, Mahabharata and Ramayana, we can use those appropriate tags (Purana, Mahabharata or Ramayana) without using Mythology tag.
2. If it's not clear where the stories come from then only we should use mythology tag
3. Now, if stories don't come from Puranas and Itihasa then there are two possibilities A) It's folk-lore/talk i.e story isn't found in scripture which leads to the higher chances that story is inauthentic B) It may be included in text other than Puranas and Itihasa then we can use mythology tag
And in that case (3B) what would be better alternative name to tag mythology (to avoid possible confusion) among: sacred-mythology, scriptural-mythology, sacred-narrative, sacred-stories, stories,...
