@Simon when i eventually go to canadia you will be sorry ! :< (because i will be there and thats annoying and stuff)
@silverpenguin erm... no
@HamZa are you saying I'm loud
@Lighty I'm not fat :(
@kalina HamZa caleld you that ;(
@kalina fear my awesome :(
/wrists
@kalina brutal
Adi
Adi
12:05
@kalina I've always thought you're like 160cm around 50kg
@Adi 5'6 and around 64 kgs
shifty eyes
ô_ô
@Adi HEY THATS 165 CM AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT
Adi
Adi
@silverpenguin You can't mix freedomunits and actual units
now, I need to reboot because Windows 10's new compressed memory thing is fucking shit and my bleeding edge PC is running like a 486 because somehow sitting on the desktop running Google Chrome is sufficient to use 16GB of RAM.
12:07
@Adi I got it wrong anyway
Is 5'6", claims to be soooo small.
fkin lol
Adi
Adi
@kalina 165/50kg. That's actually quite slim
Did you know that postal codes in India are called "Pin Codes"?
The more you know
What are actual pin codes called there then?
@Simon 5'4 I think ... I thought it was 5'6 but 165cm = 5'4 ... that is almost ompaloompa size
@silverpenguin I wouldn't say that 2 inches make that much of a difference.
(in b4)
(in after)
12:10
Imagine the trouble she has trying to introduce herself in France. https://t.co/RTeQ2KGr02
^heh
Adi
Adi
@RоryMcCune Hahahahahahaha ::D
@Adi well no I suppose it is borderline underweight but it's not like you can count my ribs or anything
@kalina well of course he can't , that would be a pretty major #OpSec fail...
oh whatever
@kalina I dont see what his inability to count has to do with your weight... sounds more like you are just being mean :D :P
12:11
lulz
@silverpenguin Cut the emotes.
NOW.
@Simon I cant i need them
@silverpenguin have you ever interacted with a member of the opposite sex in real life?
Adi
Adi
@kalina Is it really borderline underweight? I've always thought that's a normal weight for an attractive female physique
Although, to be honest, I'm very bad at guessing weight
If I can see bones, that's not attractive to me.
Adi
Adi
12:14
@Simon Yeah, I'm not a necrophiliac either
@Adi underweight is considered to be people with a BMI of 18.5, my BMI is 18.4
@kalina of course I have -_-
Adi
Adi
@kalina I highly recommend ditching BMI as any reasonable metric
BMI is bullshit anyway.
in before mum joke
Adi
Adi
12:14
@Simon +1
BMI is tarded
When I'm 250, I'm classified as obese, but I actually have quite a bit of muscle.
@MarkBuffalo me too I keep it protected and secret under a few layers of fat / KFC
@Adi my use of this metric is for your benefit not mine
seriously though, Windows has just upset me
Adi
Adi
@kalina Ha?
As Windows do.
12:16
no I unlocked my PC and it was using 100% of RAM and running sluggish
I don't tolerate fast PCs running sluggish
@kalina Sorry, I'll turn off the RAT.
Because you're the prez nurd!
No prez nurd in the world would tolerate a such consumption.
I haven't decided if I dislike you yet
It's taking you a while.
well you seem to know to stop just before I explode
like 50% of the time
12:18
Depending on the situation, that'd be sad.
trololololo
pervert
and no depending on the situation, that would be nothing less than I'd expect
o lawd
besides, don't flatter yourself, you'd already be finished
@Simon you made the joke before me and got the pervert label :D >_> best of both worlds
YOU GET THE BEEEEEESSSSST OF BOTH WORLDS
12:19
@kalina if a man is good enough all he needs is 30 seconds e_e
[citation needed]
wow it's already afternoon
I have things I need to do and sleeping in wasn't one of them
biab
wadafuk does biab sound like
Adi
Adi
Anybody working on Uber bugs?
Their public bug bounty program announcement is the best I've seen so far eng.uber.com/bug-bounty
Wait, the heck is that? They're not using the built-in scrolling bar?
12:22
@Simon back in a bit, perhaps?
@Adi Looks fun
@RoryAlsop oooooooo
@Ohnana thanks :)
I actually know the lead iOS dev at uber... we did some work together ....im connected e_e
@ManishEarth ey up Manish
12:23
yo
@Adi Wow, they're giving a ton of information, that's nice!
Adi
Adi
@MarkBuffalo Yup. I found a reflective XSS last night. Yummy dollars!
Does social engineering count as a bug?
@MarkBuffalo we can make it work
@Adi Nice. I found an SQLi on a major ecommerce website
12:23
Some hacker dude redirected my college's DNS :/
no contact though
@ManishEarth lol i do that to my house mate all the time
I suspect ERNET (India's educational internet infra folks) got hacked
every time he tries to google something BOOM porn
@silverpenguin no, I mean that our college website redirects to a hacker site
not DNS spoofing
that's easy
this guy probably social engineered our college's website
Adi
Adi
12:24
@Simon I agree. The fuckers have figured it out. If you make it easy and fun, you get more out of it
@Adi fancy, very much
Adi
Adi
@MarkBuffalo Didn't you say you contacted them and they thanked you and told you they'll fix it?
> Even with a team of highly-qualified and well trained security experts, you need to be constantly on the look-out for ways to improve. This bug bounty program will help ensure that our code is as secure as possible. And our unique loyalty scheme will encourage the security community to become experts when it comes to Uber.

> – Joe Sullivan, Chief Security Officer
er, social engineered the DNS record
@Simon you'd be wrong
12:26
@Adi Yes... beyond that, no contact.
Adi
Adi
:|
Cool
They replied on the phone
Adi
Adi
So you still haven't visited their offices
While I talked
Adi
Adi
and banged on the CISO's door
12:26
No, and I doubt I will lol
I didn't mean to do it. I typed it for shits and giggles thinking it wouldn't work
It actually shouldn't have worked; the format was completely invalid for most SQLi
Which leads me to think they've got some weird looping going on
@MarkBuffalo are you allowed to make it public after giving them enough time to fix it?
some people split the search string by certain parameters they create themselves, and look for certain characters, then build a query based on the split. which doesn't make any sense... at all... but that's the way some people do it.
I've seen it done once
so I guess this is what happened
@silverpenguin was never told... I won't make it public anyway
Adi
Adi
@silverpenguin You're kidding, right?
You're asking Mark Buffalo to do something that would support one of his claims?
:D hahahahaha
@kalina Do you know PC assembly stuff?
@Adi im confused?
@Adi I have build my own pcs before yes
why
Adi
Adi
12:31
Too confused to English, apparently
no need to be an ass, just asking for some clarification so I can respond.
Adi
Adi
That's just like telling Superman "No need to fly"
Or telling the sun "No need to be so hot and radiaty"
@Adi was there a reason for this question?
@Adi looooooooooooooooooooool
Adi
Adi
@kalina I was interested to know your current build
12:36
hey. kalina is back and the chat explodes. very well.
Adi
Adi
I'm thinking about finally getting an actual gaming PC
@Adi how much time have you put in?
@Adi I have two current builds, my gaming PC and my music PC
Adi
Adi
and was wondering what is out there
my gaming PC is not particularly fantastic for gaming since it has a cheap graphics card but it plays all the games I play
12:37
@Adi just make sure you get a GeForce 980 or better, so you can VR'it up :)
@RоryMcCune yea wish i had done this ... good advice... guess il just by the next one up when VR gains some steam
@Adi well it depends how long you're going to wait, we're several months into this round of CPUs so it can't be all that long until the next ones
Adi
Adi
@HamZa Well, in total, a few months.
@kalina apparently Intel are slowing down their upgrade cadence a bit...
Adi
Adi
@HamZa For that particular XSS, about 3-4 hours
12:40
@RоryMcCune you mean they've realized moore's law is bollocks?
@Adi hmmm ok...
@Adi Remember we have an actual expert in the room. Speak to @DavidFreitag
He specced an awesome gaming rig for me
dovid da xpert
@kalina well it always was, but they've finally realized that it's not a useful pretense to keep up...
@RoryAlsop IIRC you had more problems building yours than I had building mine
Adi
Adi
12:40
@RoryAlsop Oh yeah, I already asked him about it.
I was just asking about what other people have
so much for expert
@kalina yeah - mostly because it had been so long since I last did it
3
wasn't David's fault
@RoryAlsop hehehehHEHEHEhehehehe
@Simon yeah it has little value in real world and if implemented slightly wrong (and it adds a lot of complexity) it could even be worse than not using it
@kalina oh gawd
12:42
@Adi, if you'd like to know mine, it's a hackintosh gaming build. I can fetch the specs if you're interested
@Adi two pcs, one based around 5960X (8 cores/16 threads/last generation chip), one based around 6700K (4 cores/8 threads/current generation chip=better single core speed)
24 mins ago, by kalina
pervert
both with 16GB of RAM, both with SSDs for most/all of the disks
@kalina waht size SSDs e_e
Oh - for the DJ's in the room: intlmusicsnobs.com/post/56526679881/…
company name is And Vinyly
lol
Adi
Adi
12:44
@HamZa What's the problem?
@silverpenguin variety of sizes and ages, most of them are 256GB
I kinda need the money well not per se but not sure if it's worth investing my time.
My current dilemma is: am I competent enough to find a bug that will have a positive time-effort-money ratio? Or should I better go read and learn some stuff (currently reading a book about exploitation)
@Adi Core-i7-5820k/32GB DDR4 RAM/Samsung SM951 256GB SSD/Nvidia Geforce 980TI
@kalina see i have 256 SSD and 500GB spin and a 2TB NAS as my set up ... I have a 1TB SSD but I have no use for it right now
Adi
Adi
@HamZa Why not both at the same time?
12:46
@silverpenguin the only spinning disks I have are external and USB
Adi
Adi
@HamZa You learn quite a lot by trying to the find the issues. The process of failing itself is a good way to learn because of the amount of Googling and research you do on each thing
@Adi my agenda is kinda full: full time internship, a part time job and working out
Adi
Adi
@HamZa Then either way you can't do stuff on bug bounty program. Your issue is time management not competence.
@Adi spot on
Adi
Adi
@RоryMcCune @kalina Thanks for the specs. I'm Googling them to learn more
12:47
@kalina what games do you play btw? if i may ask
Wow, I can't download Thunderbird 38.7 because of HSTS :/
@silverpenguin solitaire and hello kitty magic island
My build is a Macbook Pro 2k12 with an i5.
YOU ALL JELLY OF MY FABULOUS BUILD
no
your build doesn't seem to be expandable in any way
and it's got a casual user's cpu in it
@Simon Ivy Bridge?
Adi
Adi
12:49
I Googled Indian postal codes ONCE! Now Facebook keeps showing me Indian stuff
WAT!
@SEJPM Do I look like someone who knows?
@Simon my MBP is i7 4k screen pokes tongue out
@Simon sometimes?
@Adi bwahaha
@SEJPM Hum, that's literally the best answer.
12:50
@kalina im going to take this as some of the games you play! :P
@silverpenguin I thought you were a cheap ass.
@Simon a minute ago you were like "do I look like someone who knows" and now you're all like "I understand what you just said and I'm questioning it!"
Adi
Adi
@Simon Look who's talking! Weren't you loaded?
@Adi Core-i7 5930/32Gb DDR4 / Plextor PX-G256M6e SSD, 2xWDC 1Tb, Seagate 1Tb, removable Seagate 1Tb / Nvidia GForce 980Ti
@Adi I wouldn't say loaded but I certainly know how to save monies.
12:51
after the horror I experienced today I might get another 16GB of RAM
@Simon erm... i managed to erm...get it for free :D
and yes - it took me that long to find out what was in my machine
Adi
Adi
@kalina :(
@silverpenguin Oh yes, I remember.
@RoryAlsop damn high-end gamer
Adi
Adi
12:52
My main PC has 512MB of RAM
Device Manager ain't as obvious as it used to be (blimming Windows 10)
What I don't like about it is that it wasn't obvious where all the RAM had gone
going out for japanese food! everyone run and join me :D
Adi
Adi
I have to download YouTube videos because it's too much to play them in the browser
:/ bad accident ahead
12:52
enjoy your raw fish, hope you don't catch something
@RoryAlsop will you upgrade to dual E5-2602v4?
@Adi I can't tell if you're being serious or not
Adi
Adi
@silverpenguin I love Japanese food. Enjoy
and if you're being serious I feel like a real bad person for giving away my old pcs
@SEJPM if it's a swap in on the same motherboard, then probably
Adi
Adi
12:53
@kalina No joke. I got it in 2007 and I still have it until now
512MB of RAM was not current in 2007
512MB of RAM was current in 1993
@RoryAlsop no :( you'd need dual-socket workstation mainboard
Adi
Adi
It was current for my budget
probably
Adi
Adi
Back them I was a broke teenager
12:54
@Adi your phone probably has more RAM than your PC
@SEJPM I'll wait until further down the line then - this one is pretty new so should do for a bit
@Adi going for a katsu curry with rice .... I hate fish @kalina
Adi
Adi
@SEJPM Indeed it does.
@Adi for gaming probably the biggest factor is Graphics card, after that the main recommendation I'd make is get a good SSD. These days SATA SSDs are a bit of a bottleneck, so M.2 PCIe ones are a good idea (although older OSs may have support issues)
Adi
Adi
@silverpenguin I have no clue what that is. However, I'm currently hungry, so if it's food then it goes in my mouth
12:55
and note that there is a difference being m.2 sata and m.2 pcie
in that the former is slow and the latter is fast
at the moment Samsung 950 Pro is likely the best bet, but towards the end up the year samsung have some even faster stuff coming along
Adi
Adi
@RоryMcCune First time I hear of this M.2
apparently likely to saturate the PCIe 4x bus
@kalina I've got the former in a RAID 0 and can't complain :)
Adi
Adi
I think price is not a problem. I'm mostly concerned with not knowing shit about modern stuff like that
12:56
@Adi they look like sticks of RAM more than anything else...
@SEJPM even with multiple m2 sata drives in raid 0, one m2 pcie drive is likely faster
@Adi BUILD YOUR SYSTEM IN RAM!
@SEJPM well if 3D X-Point actually lands this year that starts to look more possible...
@kalina of course, but the speed difference likely doesn't matter in 90%+ of usage scenarios
@silverpenguin Manatee in I Hate Fish Shocker!!
12:57
@SEJPM nobody cares about usage scenarios, it's about maximum numbers
@Adi did you read my build blog post?
@kalina bigger numbers are always better?
you blogged your build?
@Simon seriously
Adi
Adi
@RoryAlsop I saw the pretty pictures :D
you call me a nerd, these guys blog their PC builds
12:58
read the fun about the blimming M2
@kalina well ... I did once
@RoryAlsop thats why i am a on land now... couldnt cut the sea... I only eat land meat, rice, potatoes and cheese... probably a few more things but thats about it
with a name like infosecfrog shouldn't this be @M'vy's blog? :D
@kalina ahh - well there is a really really long story to that but it can't be written. I'll tell you some day
@silverpenguin what about air meat?
I'm disappointed in you for having LEDs in your PC
@RoryAlsop pigeons?
