@Flyk Well, you press on the touchpad, you get the feedback instantly in Logic. Then, you press on the touchpad again 5 minutes later, you get a 1-2 second delay before you hear the sound.
@Flyk at old job, I worked from home, as well as from the office. was 50/50 split basically. 3 monitor rigs at both places (carried laptop around, and had a Raspberry Pi for the 3rd @ each place). Old job imploded, so I got to keep them. Now I have somewhere between 6 and 8 monitors.
Tho at the moment I have... a laptop, a "netbook" of a modern design, a NUC class machine with a small 10 inch 'bare' screen, and a desktop with a 20 inch 1600x900 screen.
@JourneymanGeek I paid for the home rig, took me almost a year to save for it. Losing my old job and keeping my work specific rig was kinda the suckiest awesome thing to have happen. :\
@Flyk weed generally has a distinctive odour, schipol is a main hub airport for europe and most people entering singapore have to go through customs :)
@CodesInChaos I used to play the sgi flight sim back in the nineties. one ,onitor for your view out the front, and one each for other views. typically drove each one with a separate machine :-)
@RоryMcCune we tried banning alcohol but it was too ingrained in culture. the other drugs have not, so we can ban them easily. as weed becomes part of culture, it starts to be legalized
@Simon you know the reason that most drugs are banned is because somebody with no experience with the matter doesn't like the idea of people enjoying themselves?
not because of science
marijuana was banned in the US in the 1920s basically because the white people didn't like their slaves "escaping" from their servitude
that's the thick and thin of it
all these governments keep getting actual researchers to do studies on the effects of drugs, stating that they should be declassified because the effects don't match the hype
and then the governments ignore the scientific research and keep them banned anyway
I'm not saying that stuff like meth or krokodil shouldn't be banned, because they're properly messed up
@RоryMcCune Absolutely. Emotions differ from one human being to another. Anyone can develop an emotional addiction to anything. You're not gonna forbid apples because some weirdo is addicted to them.
@RoryAlsop I don't really get a chance to play it since you need 5+ players for maximum hilarity, and five years ago our group deteriorated to ~4 members ish.
