Hello everyone,
I am designing an Alpha particle time of flight detector which consists of two scintillators separated by 5cm of vacuum (few Torrs).
The two scintillators are connected to two separate avalanche photodetectors which would generate photons as soon as the Alpha particle pass through the scintillators.
I now need to design a circuit (preferably an analogue integrator) to measure the time interval between those two events to an accuracy of a 0.1ns.

Could anyone help me with this circuit as I am not very much adept to it.

@JasonMars That's... not a simple circuit
worst case is light, which would give you a difference of 0.16ns?

@ThePhoton I saw an interesting post about CCS...

2:02 AM
I'd recently installed it and was checking it out. Seems really nice.

hey there @W5VO and @rdtsc

2:21 AM
@rdtsc I think @ThePhoton is talking about Code Composer Studio, as he has a MSP430

2:44 AM
@JasonMars What's the maximum of the time interval?

Q: deep cycle marine battery life question

Baruch AttaI just installed a brand new deep cycle marine battery. It goes thru a charger-inverter and will switch over automatically if the power goes down. My question is what to do with the other two (old) batteries. Both old batteries are deep cycle marine also. But one is 10 years old and the other ...

Another mod there says it's not up to migration standards. I'm not saying he's wrong.

@MikeWaters The question "Can I charge an old and worn [insert chemistry] battery in parallel [or in series] with a shiny new one?" came up a handful of times. This one is about lead-acid.
I'll add that the topic of parallelling deep cycle lead-acid batteries has been covered on teh webz [sic] fairly well. Here, for example.
