So if some text says "Amplifier Voltage Gain" with a value, is that number usually going to be in dB?
For my (different) calculations, they're unitless (14 V/V). And my simulation says 21dB. That calculator site is closer to the gain in dB--but there is no unit displayed...

@AdamUraynar if there's no unit displayed, then it's ambiguous

find a different calculator I reckon

@AdamUraynar A Bel isn't a real unit, it is a context dependent factor of some kind to relate between two values of the same unit. So you need from context to know if its about power or a field, and from that you can infer the factor. Like 2B for voltage (being a field) is a factor of 10
The corresponding SI "unit" is Neper, which nobody uses ever at all anywhere.

Ok.

@PlasmaHH . . You used "quotation" marks. Who are you quoting ?

@Marla a sign my wife saw at some construction companies site
also, translated

ok, thanks. On a similar theme, I saw a television commercial (for car insurance I think) where at the bottom of the screen it was showing, "Real Actors, not Real People".

My wife said, I have something 'not so nice' to tell you. "The kitchen sink is plugged". I said OK. 1 hr big accordion plunger. Nada, plastic tubing went a long ways horizontal to elbow and stopped came back dark organic matter. hrs later I decided to get a power drill drain-router $40cdn for 4h. No blockage detected after 30 minutes. Gave up. Put back together and it drained like normal.
U of T asked me to demonstrate for today my invention supplied from last summer Custom 1mx1m fast step gantry with automated/macro and jog software with Open Source Win GUI. For magnetometer 3D graphs It was postponed 1 week so prof could raise investors to fund the project for Wireless Power Transfer for e-trucks.

@PlasmaHH 110GHz clock and 256GS/s 10bit flash ADC designs are impressive. as is your budget for this scope. The dotted micro via grounds between closely spaced striplines are also new to my eyes. Or is it silkscreen on the ADC board?
It makes a water-cooled Cray look like a dinosaur.
it should be able to capture an avalanche PD event in a xx megawatt transformer with < 1ps risetime
only 1.3 million dollars.

@TonyEErocketscientist microstrip lines would be my guess

certainly but these are dots between them spaced about the width of the track pairs and maybe ground lines

How do you do LaTeX in a comment? I'm just trying to do a subscript.
I've tried a few things (never did LaTeX before) and they didn't work.

@AdamUraynar \$x_1\$, for example

Thank you.

Do we want this for EE.SE ?
I'm on the fence myself.

Q: Effects of removing If.flush line given ASM code(tricky)

JavableMountainFirst post here. I am learning asm and computer organization by myself, and I've encountered a problematic scenario on which I would very appreciate your assistance. Given this code, that runs on a pipelined MIPS: 0x1000 loop: lw $11,4($8) 0x1004 add $4,$4,$11 0x1008 addi $8,$8,4 0x100c sw $4,...

Well, nevermind. I'm no longer on the fence. This is StackOverflow material.

@NickAlexeev Mixed feelings about it being on-topic, leaning towards "yes" since I've taken EE courses with questions like this... Probably don't want it as it's a "here's my homework" question.
