A: What is USM, and what are its pros and cons?

DALIP KUMAR SINGHDear sir i am a profetonal in a small town.I have a small studio . My work place atteched with many industries , hotels , and marriage etc. Many time i need to shoot low lite sitution like a indoor shoot in plant to take shot wide view and other prblem i face in a large group photo up to 250 to 5...

how oh how is he a "profetonal" with a studio and getting jobs where he covers weddings and 250 to 500 person photos while not knowing about how to use flash?
advice for him, a) get a professional camera, b) get flashes for lighting, c) find a new job, d) I'm cranky this morning
is it bad that I'm half tempted to ask for samples of the problem just because I'm in the mood to laugh
(I get really cranky when ill)

yo
time to show off some pics

@Shyju not bad, wish there was more going on with the clouds, nothing wrong with the image, just feels like not much is going on with the sky, not unattractive, just not terribly interesting to me
but still a better choice than having the field be the majority and I like the composition of the lighthouse and the piers

@AJHenderson: Thank you for the welcome, and thank you (and all the others) for your contributions to photo.so - it has been an awesome resource

there was not much light
drove 2.5 hours to get the sun light

@Shyju: I'd try cropping out the topmost part quite aggressively - maybe 2:1 aspect ratio?

@Shyju yeah, you shoot the best you can with the situation
@JohannesD yeah, a panoramic might work better, but I'm not sure if there is enough detail for it to be that big of a panoramic or not
might be worth trying as a series of narrower shots that you can piece together
if the sky isn't cooperative
because that shoreline would make a nice pano

@JohannesD thanks, it's always nice to know that it is a helpful resource
before I went to school for electronic arts, most of my knowledge came from people who shared it freely with me, so I like sharing back out and learning from others doing the same
we have people ranging from highly technical to highly artistic on here, so it's a pretty awesome resource for anyone from beginner to professional

@Shyju that's my favorite of the two main photos, though I think maybe the DoF is too shallow
and there isn't really a clear subject since things are in focus on either side of that one flower clump that is too close
and the background is just a hair too blurry so it ends up feeling detached
alternately, for that short of a DoF, I'd probably have taken a lower angle
sky being more heavily blurred is less disconcerting as it is expected to be highly distant

Q: How can I add 'SB-900' tag?

Roman MatveevI'd like to ask a question related to Nikon's SB-900 speedlight. However suggested tags are only 'SB-600' and 'SB-700'. I'm not able to add a new tags as my reputation is less than 300.

@JohannesD LR4 showed a good deal of improvement over LR3 and previous version with regard to NR. Prior to the release of LR4 it was generally accepted that the versions of DPP available at that time did a better job of NR with .cr2 files than LR did.
@JohannesD Since the release of LR4 there has been more debate about which is better and which results are better can be more opinion based. In my personal experience with DPP, to get the most out of the NR capability you must also use the unsharpen mask to fine tune the sharpening as well.
@JohannesD What chrominance noise reduction value did you use for the image processed with DPP?
