@Shyju sometimes. It is a hotly debated issue. If I didn't already have them, I wouldn't have bought them, but I already had ones, so I stuck with them unless they are causing issues
two main exceptions
if you have a lens that is only weathersealed with a filter, they are a must
also, if you are using any other filters, make sure to take them off
the pluses are that it keeps dust and dirt from getting on your front element, but this really doesn't make a big deal since they scratch more easily and scratches and dirt on the front element really don't matter from a quality stand point
the one big thing is that if you get a fingerprint on a filter, you get a "do over" without having to clean it
on the down side, they can cause vignetting (could be good, could be bad)
they also can cause ghosting and other light related issues when there is a strong light in frame in a dark scene
so if you are shooting in those kind of situations, remove the filter

Hi guys, I commented a while back on AJ's answer here: photo.stackexchange.com/a/49809/14547
about the noise reduction capabilities of third-party vs. camera vendor RAW software
I was surprised how much better Lightroom's NR seems to be compared to Canon DPP - has anybody else had a similar experience?
Here's a pair of comparison images: imgur.com/ZoF06u8,UIwMOKP
The photo was accidentally shot at ISO 6400; the cleaner one is Lightroom
Could open a question about this but I'm not sure if it's a question-worthy issue

@JohannesD would be an interesting question, but probably hard to make it not super opinion based
granted, that is often a hard line to figure out in the arts related SE sites
and it was actually in chat here that I had gotten the impression that NR was better in the Canon DPP. I forget who, but a few people that are regularly in here seem to like DPP quite a bit for their camera's when it comes to NR
but that might specifically have been processing the LENR data
btw, welcome to chat too. Always nice to see a new face
you already know from my comment that I don't have a whole lot of direct experience with NR in DPP and just use LR when I need it.
though the advantage of shooting on a 5D Mark iii is I don't need NR very often either
