The first time you discovered the Visual Basic Editor and visualized the VBA project in the Project Explorer, when you first met ThisWorkbook and Sheet1, document modules were the world: your baby steps in VBA were very likely in the code-behind of ThisWorkbook or Sheet1 - document modules are the gateway to VBA-land.… Continue reading Document Modules →

@MathieuGuindon early Christmas gift? How thoughtful of you. Didn’t know I was your favorite.
Will read it when I can. Finals are stressing me out and stealing my time.

Feedback welcome =)

Q: Reduce time taken for vba loop with up to 10,000 iterations

sjediMy VBA code currently loops for 5,000 iterations and takes about 25 minutes to collect the output data in the Output excel sheet. Is there a way to reduce the time taken for instance by improving the copying and pasting of values, collecting the output data in some kind of array etc.? Given that ...

OK Second attempt

I keep runnining into an annoying idiosyncracy with my VBA c#linbray 'Kvp'. I thought I'd check the wisdom here before posting on stackoverflow.

Cnsider the following VBA code

Option Explicit

Sub AssignToKvpItem()

Dim myKvp: Set myKvp = New Kvp

myKvp.AddByIndex 42&
myKvp.AddByIndex 84&

Debug.Print myKvp.Item(CLng(1))
Debug.Print myKvp.Item(CLng(2))

myKvp.Item(1&) = 99

Debug.Print myKvp.Item(1&)

TestPassedKvpAssignment myKvp

End Sub

Sub TestPassedKvpAssignment(ByVal ipKvp As Kvp)
Oh Good grief. Maybe even a third attempt

@Freeflow I don't think you get an Item member for free... I think your C# class/members needs more attributes, and an explicit COM interface.

@MathieuGuindon I'd admit I am very much a novice in c# but I did a lot a reading an research while building my library, and to be honest I'm finding it of great utility when pootling in VBA. I think I got the interface correct but there may well be some attributes that I'm missing.

^ @this as it comes up all the time in chat.
I've demontstrated aplenty with my :derp: that I'm not in the top. At best I'm in the local minimum valley in the center.

@MathieuGuindon Have you heard anything from the guy who has done the Spanish translations?

Haven't, no.
I think we can still release with holes in translations, and have them patched later
Do we revert to the old yellow splash?

Ok, but we will wait for the Czech ones.
