Q: Why is my ans wrong? 6 boxes are numbered 1 to 6. How many ways are there to put 20 identical balls into these boxes so that none of them is empty?

Hemant AgarwalWhy is my answer to the following question wrong. The question: Six boxes are numbered 1 through 6. How many ways are there to put 20 identical balls into these boxes so that none of them is empty? My solution: Since each box has to have at least 1 ball, put 1 ball in each of the 6 boxes. Now,...

Q: How to escalate a complaint with United?

max For escalating a complaint with United Airlines, call 𝟠𝟘𝟜-𝟠𝟝𝟛-𝟡𝟘𝟘𝟙 and ask to speak with a supervisor. If necessary, escalate the issue through their website contact form or social media platforms.

Q: Dig endlessly below treasure mark; turn head around, "Bah!" - round burning torch (7)

Scratch---CatThis is a cryptic crossword with a strange twist. The wordplay part works like normal wordplay, and clues the word to be entered into the grid. However, the "definition" part here is made to resemble the wordplay for a single letter (capitalization matters!) or some other symbol. For example, the...

@bobble Relatedly, this puzzle is totally broken due to the user having embedded an image from off site, rather than uploading it properly. :-\

Not a fan of edits being made to puzzles and answers to pander to Chinese politics - two of my (very old) answers referring to Taiwan have been edited in such a way today. Whilst I don't really mind the addition of 'countries/regions' in place of 'countries', adding references to suggest Taiwan no longer has a flag of any kind is crossing a line...
13:49
@Stiv In this case, "nations/regions" instead of "nations" is actually a reasonable edit, since the list includes the Faeroe Islands.
But I agree that saying so about Taiwan is beyond the pale.
14:05
Indeed, I had no truck with the first one at all. It was just the second that I thought was overreaching. I'm probably oversensitive today anyway as I'm ill in bed - I should leave the internet well alone!
Although of course, the Faroe Islands football team would be considered a 'nation' in the sporting identity sense, just to complicate things...
i remember catching flak for suggesting that kurds could be living in a country of their own 18,000 years from now
real-life politics spilling in
hope you feel better soon

I'm not on my computer quite yet (currently having breakfast) but the image is in the Wayback Machine
@Stiv they also attempted to edit on Meta because "Chinese is the best language"
Guess they're feeling like a Chinese state censor today

@bobble If it's possible to migrate the question to main-meta I haven't figured out how. (Close > site-specific > belongs on another site > enter "meta.stackexchange.com" into the box --> dropdown gets populated with a small number of specifix X.meta.stackexchange.com sites, and just clicking "Close" produces a message saying "Unknown destination site".)
Same if I just put "meta" in the box, or if I try to make it extra-unambiguous by entering "https://meta.stackexchange.com/".
@GarethMcCaughan well at this point it doesn't matter, since they reposted it themselves
@bobble nevermind, that's an edit to their question instead of one by them
sorry :/
in my defense the attribution is difficult to navigate on a phone
@bobble oh yes, so they did. Just as well I didn't manage to do it then :-).
You could post a link to the cross-post in a comment on the Meta Puzzling one maybe
So other viewers know that the question is also elsewhere
I've closed the puzzling.meta one with a comment saying OP asked the same question on meta.SE. I didn't bother including a link; my guess is that the expected number of future people needing to navigate from the puzzling.meta question to the meta.SE one is < 1 so it's not worth the effort :-).
15:33
@Stiv got sick last week too and yes it sucks. Like Jafe said, gws
15:44
@bobble on my end it says that the edit was proposed by an anonymous user, but I'm just probably not seeing who it is since I don't have a profile on Meta (but I'm not sure if that's relevant)
But it feels weird that they would write the disclaimer about Chinese characters only to remove it later if they were the same person
@oAlt that's what I said
@bobble here
sorry for the accidental libel
Oh I'm blind,,,
I had thought that was related to something else for some reason

Q: What year was it?

StivTowards the end of a cold February many years ago (some time in the 2010s) I was sharing a takeaway with a friend who suddenly, mid-conversation, asked me "What year is it now?" At first I was bemused, but after a few seconds I twigged what they were getting at. As it happened, I had recently cre...
