BubblerCrSb0001 has been studying the minimum number of clues to force a unique solution in Hidato for variously sized boards. They came up with a 5x5 Hidato with 5 clues but it was found that it has multiple solutions. Goal of Hidato: Fill in a grid with a series of consecutive numbers that connect ea...

Phạm Nhật Vượng (on TV Hump Ghana)*
the wealth of the wealthiest vietnamese man is measured in dongs
correct!
the way to solve that without help is dividing the chat into two teams, one researches perverts on tv and the other men with many dongs

and now we know what Jafe was doing while he came up with that clue

Q: How do I constrain a puzzle and keep a singular solution?

BrandanI am tinkering with a puzzle framework that has the following rules: In a 6x6 grid of squares, arrange 8 strips of connected squares such that there exists exactly one strip of every length (i.e. a strip of 1 square, 2 squares, etc up to 8). Strips cannot double back/form 2x2 blocks. I intend for...

@DanielS what's "in" doing? Anyway I didn't expect "noon" to actually be in the answer lol
hidden indicator, i think
it is nonstandard to have a hidden plus another type of wordplay though
@Jafe I concur
i thought about noon = many dongs but couldn't come up with the whole phrase
@Jafe I have a colleague whom I regularly annoy with the phrase "It's not Ximenean, but it is solvable"
"if ximenes was alive he'd be rolling in his grave"

if we're continuing with the "and" trick, epees' tips around could be s and e

Q: What character am I thinking of?

Logan Sweeney What character am I thinking of? I just imagined that instead of just solving puzzles, I could make friends by making one.

15:06
I just knew there were others solving that one simultaneously - a nice afternoon poser (in my part of the world, at least!). Thanks @Jafe

Full disclosure (the edit grace window is very forgiving), I originally had COMING instead of COMPUTING, as I figured you had to PUT 'IN' in that particular spot, and I only realised the latter fitted better when I noticed it in the almost-simultaneous answer by @DanielS (I was using it in a different clue before then, with someone 'coming seventh' whilst another individual was described with just one word rather than the intended two...).
hah, pretty rare to get 3 correct answers within like 2 min... nice job all
@Sphinx Oh wow, she finally went there :)
And ironically, I haven't lol. That's added to my bucket list
