Q: Make 2019 with single digits

trolley813This puzzle is inspired by a puzzle by @Andrew, where the goal is to make 1998 from a minimal amount of 8s. This is a variation of the puzzle, where the goal is to make 2019 using a minimal amount of single digits (0s, 1s, 2s, etc.) More formal description (to remove any disambiguations and loop...

It's easy to mix up the factorial with the summandial or whatever it's called. (In any case, it needs a fancy notation.)

8:49 AM
Well its triangular numbers so I would just call it that

Yes, but that's a bit mundane, isn't it?

True. Although the formula often simplifies upon substitution so its not like it has the same need for a notation like factorial

It was just meant to be a silly joke, not a serious suggestion.

Q: Boat children and army crossing the river puzzle

Sayed Mohd AliDuring the war, a small detachment found itself confronted by a deep and wide river. However, they found a small boat in which two-children were rowing about. It was a very small boat and can only carry the 2-children, or one grown person with it. How did the captain get himself and his 357 other...

Maybe its notation should be ‽ then (interrobang)

Yes, that's appropriately confusing. :)

Oh and lets make it better by giving ? to something as well!
Actually this gives me an idea for a puzzle

Q: Solve this simple Zipper Cipher

rm-vandaThis is a very simple variation on a very simple cipher. I'm sure one of you geniuses on this site will be able to figure it out without any hints (aside from the title). I encourage you to use a computer to solve it, but that is ultimately not necessary. Here you go: Xwj wdwzq sklqgv, bzmjm ...

I've voted to reject this suggested edit as attempted vandalism. It's the third(?) such edit I've seen from the same user. Might be worth slapping a suggested-edit ban on them, @Deusovi or whichever mod is around.

Deepthinker101What is the missing number that should be put in place of the question mark? 3,3=17 2,5=28 3,4=24 4,5=40 5,8=88 6,11=146 6,9=?

@GarethMcCaughan I want this to be TOLERATED = accepted unwillingly, where "without hesitation" means outside of ER. But I can't seem to make the rest fit. "Regular" could be TOAT, but then "payment made" would have to be ED, which I can't see, and "hesitation" would have to be LER rather than ER, which I also can't see. It'd be nice if TOLATED meant "regular payment made", but it doesn't seem to.

That is not my intended answer.

@GarethMcCaughan I was afraid of that. :-)

Heh, no worries.
