If anyone thinks He said yes..she said no..they went back and forth..they agreed to is unclear, too broad, or any other issue, please vote or flag appropriately. I'm not sure what the puzzle is, but there's been no feedback on the answer or comments to it, and it feels to me like something is missing and needs a stronger push to get it.

Q: Devoted to high culture

jafeThis puzzle is part 4 of Gladys' journey across the globe. Each part can be solved independently. Nevertheless, if you are new to the series, feel free to start at the beginning: Introducing Gladys. Dear Puzzling, Today I visited a rather unusual religious site. The people...

But I'm not going to ask you the question. I'm just going to tell you a possible answer to it. "The Arctic."

What is the answer to the question which would result in the answer of the Artic?

Dear Puzzling person! if you think these ( 1 2 3 4 ) trivia questions and questions like them — basically bare recitations of unveiled facts about or characteristics of their subjects — are not actual puzzles and not something we really want, then I could use your help.
We need the voting on What should we do about "riddles" that are pure trivia? to reflect how the community feels about these questions and what should be done with them. I'd appreciate it if you'd do your part to contribute to the voting there. Thanks!

meh

hey, it's mehthrandir.

I feel like they are puzzles, just not... very high quality ones. I wouldn't complain if they were decided to be off topic, but I think they're technically within the scope of the site

Take a look at the Meta post and see if your opinion is in line with what's already there; if not, feel free to add your own opinion. Right now, though, it's hard to argue for any kind of consensus, so the question and any direction we might take from it just languish in obscurity. Alas. :)

6:41 AM
I think to get a proper discussion, you'd have to start a new meta post.

eh. that would pretty literally be a duplicate of the existing post. I wouldn't even argue that enough time has passed to make a de novo review of the topic worth doing, let alone necessary.
(or, put another way: i'll see your meh, and raise you a meh)

8 votes for "close them"
14 votes for "downvote... no wait, close them"
isn't that unanimous? what am i missing

of those 14, 10 (if I remember right) were for "downvote". the last 4 were cast after it was changed.

ah i see

6:58 AM
We can't add the 4 to the 8 because they may well be the same people upvoting both. So really we have between 8 and 12 support closure, and 10 support downvote alone. not a clear consensus, which I'm hoping some additional exposure and voting will help clarify.

Q: How to articulate the answer to the 82k sequence riddle

George MenoutisI have found the quintessential you-won't-find-it-if-you-don't-know-it question: Question: "What is the next element of this sequence: 2,3,4" Answer: 82000 Short explanation: 2 is the minimum positive integer that can be written in base 2 only using digits 0 and 1. 3 is the minimum positive i...

Q: Need help please

Tracy RowlandThink to take the cap, the scarf and umbrella , Tonight I will come back home very late, we had some problems, I will tell you tomorrow, I will sleep on the couch to not awake you, this is a puzzle, you think straight you get it wrong, you think right you get it right ....

@Rubio Hard to see how to get anything interesting out of votes on a meta question whose answers, as jafe notes, are "close" and "downvote, no, wait, I changed my mind, close". Adding another answer saying "downvote after all" might make it possible to get meaningful new votes, but how can you meaningfully aggregate them with the older ones?

Q: Are questions about solution uniqueness or construction on topic?
