Q: Clearing the Robot Museum

SaladaniThe grand opening of the Collapsible Robot Museum is just 1 week away in the robot nation of Robotia. The museum is unique because shortly after the museum closes, the building collapses into a flat plot of land and un-collapses prior to opening. Needless to say, any robot inside at the time of c...

Unable to solveWhat are the missing digits? |3|2|2| |1|8|8| |?|2|8| |2|4|4| |9|2|2| |2|5|?| I was given this puzzle by a friend and I just can't see anyway to solve it...

is Delta=D valid in cryptic clues?
(NATO phonetic alphabet, that is)

12:53 PM
@Sid I would think so; I can definitely recall seeing Papa, Oscar, and Romeo used similarly in The Guardian's CCs

1:12 PM
@Sid I'm pretty sure yes, I believe I've seen Alpha used is CCs as well.

1 hour later…
2:15 PM
@Sid I did it again, I thought of a cool puzzle, but it's going to be really hard to make lol

@Deusovi Google drive link for the CCCC archive seems to be wrong.

Sid
@dcfyj Hehe, I have a nice puzzle in mind but I am scared it could be too broad

Mine'll just be a pain to make (possibly solve too)

TY

Odd, looking at those 2 they are the same...?
I see no difference in those links, yet one works and the other doesn't. How puzzling :P

2:24 PM
It's different for me:

vs.

dang link shortener!!
One has % encoding?
IDK

Edit your chat message? I want to see the full link (I believe it should show up in history)
huh, that's odd
I don't see the % encoding on mine (I do in your chat message though)

@Tumbler41 @Deusovi I fixed the link in the pinned message. It should work now.

Yay! thx.

Whoops, my bad! Thanks for fixing it.

I didn't see any difference between the two links, but one worked for me and one didn't.

2:33 PM
I think that chrome unobfuscates % encoding. If you copy the link address and paste it in an editor you can see the difference.

2:51 PM
Why there was ever a zero-width space in it, I have no idea.

Aliens

@GarethMcCaughan Someone posted a "copy this blob to post the pin message" message, which because chat is subtly broken, includes a zero width space that was not actually part of the message as sent. So if you're copying and pasting from that attempt to be helpful, you're getting a broken link as a result. (@Deusovi)

Ah, of course. A zero-width space was added into the message. A completely reasonable thing to have happen when copy-pasting text in code blocks.

Sid
If i post a puzzle where the final question is : "create a wordsquare using these 4 words."(where you have to find out what the 4 words are). Does it count as "too broad"?

3:07 PM
@Deusovi excuses :P

@Sid What, like you get four words from crossword-style clues and you have to make a word square out of them? I don't see why that would be too broad.

Sid
Sort of, yeah.
I think multiple wordsquared can be made from 4 words, no?

3:19 PM
@sid I think there's a limited number of combinations so you could check them all out with a small piece of code

Q: A crazy puzzle: what am I?

bob Here's a crazy riddle for you. Figure out what I am, if you can: I'm gone before you know it, yet I go on and on and on... Can you tell me what am I?

4:05 PM
Word squares are pretty restrictive. (In my semi-recent variety cryptic, I gave eight clues to words and had people assemble an asymmetric word square from them. There was a clear right answer.)

@Rubio oh yeah, that thing again

Q: Word Ladders go to the movies

David StarkeyYou love movies. You had several (9) VHS tapes, neatly organized in their sleeves, up on a shelf. However, due to a certain incident, they've been mixed and their sleeves destroyed.
