Hrm, I don't know what kind of hint I should give for the C4...
OK, might as well shut down a current idea:
CCCC hints: 1. "surface" does not clue the outer or initial letters of a word/phrase.

While I wait for the speculations to come in, here's some more HNQCCs for your palate:
I almost considered placing that first one on my CCCC backlog, but the definition part is loose enough that it would probably be unfair
However I'm still pretty proud of the construction, didn't need to alter the original question drastically to make it work

Q: What replaces the question mark in the blood relation problem?

Rajorshi KoyalIf A + B means A is the father of B If A × B means A is the sister of B If A $ B means A is the wife of B If A % B means A is the mother of B If A ÷ B means A is the son of B What should come in place of the question mark, to establish that T is the sister-in-law of Q in the given expression ? R ...

I'm sorry, but why exactly don't we CV Rajorshi's puzzles for lack of attribution? They are clearly taken from somewhere and searching for his two most recent questions, I can find the source.
*sources
I get that they're more of a tree drawing/reading comprehension type of thing, but as long as it's not off topic it should still provide attribution?

Q: Too many school assignments

RetudinThis year we have to make our school assignments in pairs. With each classmate must be made exactly one of those assignments. Exactly 30% of the assignments will be made by a pair of girls. How many assignments do I have to make?

Q: Wraps and Loops—Which Sequences are Admissible?

FeryllIf you take a non-intersecting closed loop on a torus (that is to say, a path which ends where it starts and does not cross over itself, drawn inside a square whose edges "wrap" left to right and top to bottom), you can use it to infinitely tile the plane in a lined pattern: Moreover, if we tak...

@HTM CORE ddef, maybe
yikes, that hint pretty much rules out the only thing i was reasonably sure about in the c4

@LukasRotter You're obviously right. I've just closed three. @RajorshiKoyal PSE rules require that when you post a puzzle that you did not create, you give full credit to the original creator (or at least the source you found it in, since sometimes those also don't indicate who made it).

@LukasRotter to be quite honest, I wasn't VTC'ing on the main site because I wanted to make it easier for them to ask there, to try and get them to stop asking in chat.

Q: X : 336 :: D:446 :: ____ :1024

perseus_08My friend asked me this question yesterday X : 336 :: D:446 :: ____ :1024 I've tried seeing if there is a relation between the position of the number and the value it corresponds to. For instance, X corresponds to 23 so X^2 - 10*X, but it doesn't work quite well with the others. How can I solve t...

^ "My friend". Yeah, sure. My friends are always sending me analogy test questions with no further explanation, too.
Unfortunately, in the absence of some kind of proof that perseus_DB wasn't really sent that question by a friend, I'm not sure there's much we can do.
And, who knows?, maybe it really is a question from a friend.

Q: Blood relations using a family tree(compulsory technique)

Rajorshi Koyal"Zain Alvarez has two married sisters, Olivia, Yojaina, one unmarried sister Carmen Alvarez and he has two sons Dan and Edward, but no daughters. Olivia and her husband Frank have one son Vicky and one daughter Jack. Yojaina and her husband Ruben have two daughters Sujain and Raizain. Zain's wife...

^ I want to make the old-SO-like comment "what have you already tried yourself?", but I doubt that's appropriate for PSE :)

If I make a detailed answer explaining the process of going from the text to a family tree, can we use this question as a dupe target for all the other family-tree questions?

Hmmm... Maybe we'd need a dedicated "How to solve text-book family-tree questions" post to justify that, not sure

Any post of that sort would need a sufficiently complicated example to demonstrate on

Q: Pythagorean triplets generated in a unique way

Vassilis ParassidisLet's have the following sequence of Pythagorean triplets $25^2=24^2+7^2,1201^2=1200^2+49^2$, $58825^2=58824^2+343^2, ?, ?$ What are the next two triplets in this sequence? How have these triplets been generated?

Ah, no! The user behind this puzzle from last year has left the site... I had hoped to find out the answer eventually, as it comes to mind every now and then (haunting me like all partially solved puzzles do...). Anyone have any ideas for the next step to put my mind at rest??!
(In fact, this user was behind THREE puzzles on my long-time watchlist... This is a bad day to be a completionist...)

you could drop a bounty on it :)

A bounty on an orphaned question feels like a waste though...

bounty ain't for the question, it's for the answer
though I guess you wouldn't be able to get a new hint

Interesting vid I found that I thought some of you all would enjoy (warning: NSFW language in one part)

Indeed, but there's just something about losing everything that comes with a question having an OP... The opportunity for guidance, confirmation of a correct answer, the sight of a green tick at the end... Why resuscitate what is effectively a dead question? (Too dramatic? Maybe time to sleep...!)
