12:01 AM
hey @Sciborg, sorry just got back from lunch :)

Hi :D
How was your holiday?

good good, just 4 days off, but nice to relax and play some board games
yours?

That's basically how mine went too, we got some days off and had a bunch of family board games and eggnog :p

heading off grid this weekend, going to learn how to "kite surf" apparently
given I'm not athletic, nor particularly coordinated, I suspect it won't end well :P

Sounds incredibly dangerous, i love it :p
How is your garden doing?

12:10 AM
thriving well :) we planted some perennials and a sunflower on the weekend

Aw, sunflowers are so pretty! I wish Michigan wasn't covered in snow 50% of the time so we could have more of those around ;-;

don't exaggerate it's not 50%
more like 49.9%, really

it's been almost 10 years since it snowed in Auckland...

'borg, up for Codenames?

it only gets down to about ... googles C -> F conversion ... 40 degrees during winter

12:16 AM
I've been on the phone today so i can't do Codenames at the moment :(

I'm a strange American kid who knows metric better than imperial - too many science classes, I suspect

I totally agree with using base(12) to count, it makes sense having so many more divisors, but I get lost once you try doing feet -> miles etc.

12:33 AM
@Dmihawk 1 mi = 5280 ft.

just imagine the bloke inventing the imperial system... "5278... 5279... 5280... oh this is taking forever, we'll just call it a mile here!"

mile = lime*
important information there

yes definitely
@Dmihawk also, °F = °C × 9/5 + 32

I just remember it as "Fahrenheit sounds unbelievably hot" :P

haha

12:40 AM
32 = very warm summer day
90 = nearly boiling point of water

gasp are you having an affair with F?

F(ahrenheit)

haha nice @bobble :P

Check one more time :P then post it

Q: Looking foward to the Message

Smartest1hereSome words of wisdom from a good friend of mine. He sent it to me in a form of a puzzle for me to work out: 1) Integral - killer's initials and victims end (3) 2) Stiff, dull, spoken. (5) 3) Sheep blended with ruins of Capital city for bakers (6) Right on! Here it is... AGFKGVHMHGBWBJVHJ

@oAlt hmm decided to make some thing for the meta part to make it clearer

Q: is there a way to see the current close voters of a particular question that is not closed yet?

a radical edit that completely changes the puzzle should be rolled back, no?
(in this case, turning a bad math question into a riddle)

i'd definitely say yes on that one

Since there's no answer or anything, maybe it's not that big of a deal?
usually I'd roll-back, but might not be worth the effort in this case

Guess not with my first question, but for the radical edit I'm not sure what to do tbh

i rolled back and felt bad about it

5:12 AM
no need to feel bad!
on second thoughts that's probably a better option

i told them they had leeway to improve unanswered puzzles
improve = adjust some wording, add details, etc. to make the puzzle already there better

because there's no way to make sure the votes are based on the edited version, rollback is probably a good idea

not sure they understood that last part

why can't they ask a new question again?

question-banned

5:15 AM
oh

too many downvoted puzzles

forgot that's a thing

5:47 AM
@bobble obv yes
@bobble thats sad

Q: Have you this knowledge?

JeniaThis is special puzzle, with no story. It should be very easy for people who know what is this: GgcuuUcaGuUgUauAuuUguUaa The target is to find the word from that string. And, if you really want to crack this:

Do they have anime trees?

Probably elsewhere on picrew...

Hm, it's blocked on my school laptop ... :/

do they give a reason?

"Game site", apparently

5:26 PM
Ah yes. The enthralling game known as "creating avatars".

maybe some gaming sites use it for avatars?

I have zero clue

posted a "Making Of" to my flags FTC puzzle because it's my highest-voted puzzle by a lot so people must've liked it
and also because there's a hat for self-answering

6:32 PM
is that a dmi I see? o_O

morning @bobble! :)

have you made progress on your Making Ofs?

nothing that I can share yet... I have something... big in the works which I feel would provide better subject material for a Making Of

oooh

still waiting to see if D4 gets cracked too!

Q: How is a something like a something

CaecusThis may be a bit weird, but I remember a type of riddle but I can't remember any of those riddles nor their name. The riddle gives you 2 things and you need to find descriptions for both that are word reversal of each other. I'll give some examples and a list of those riddles I wrote. If anybody...
