For those who have incorporated flags into their puzzles, did you simply get the flag images from Wikipedia, or from another website? (Edited to fix grammar)
Not sure where to get

is everyone crafting an end-of-2020 puzzle??

not specifically for the end of 2020, no

I can't, cuz I'm planning to release it earlier, specifically this week
So that I can pass it off as part of the flags FTC

I was trying to make some Tetrikabes today, (and got two working ones!) but I'm not satisfied with their logic so that's a day wasted :(

@oAlt ah lmao
im struggling between midterms and puzzles

4:34 AM
Deus, are you available to help on a LITS?
I am taking that as a no

5:20 AM
@bobble sorry for the delay - can take a look now

Q: Now that they've become so popular, should we reconsider creating a specific category and tag for "prefix-infix-suffix" word puzzles?

SciborgUPDATE by Jeremy Dover This question seems to have hit the point of inertia with no significant objection, other than the practicality of retagging several hundred old posts. I have gone ahead and created an [affix-riddle] tag, and applied it to the (as of 30 Sept 2020) recent active examples. Ho...

yup!

yes ik

hmm, if i say "three pairs of successive clues", is it clear that i want e.g. clues 4&5, 7&8 and 11&12 and there can be any number of clues between each pair?
and not 4&5, 6&7, 8&9 only (which i suppose could be "three successive pairs of successive clues"?)

Q: Is there really an answer for this Riley?

math My prefix is so real, My suffix tastes good with a tac. My infix is, My whole is too real.

@jafe that's clear to me
but you can always clarify in a footnote or something

8:07 AM
thanks, maybe a footnote is the way to go
using multiple sentences to explain would probably be slightly clearer but i already have long instructions so i don't want it to be wordier than necessary

hey nothing wrong with long instructions
(also, new variety cryptic? exciting!)

yup! eta is late next week, if all goes to plan

looking forward to it!

Wow the C4 is still up?

Indeed! How is everything? Good to see you're still a mod.

Things are going pretty alright around here. Not too much has happened in terms of PSE -- some community members left, some joined, but the site's still much the same.
How have things been on your end?

Q: Old Mathematical Logical Problem [The Anvils]

AgaeusI've found an old book full of mathematical/logical problems without any solutions, however i would really want to hear suggestions on how to solve this one: *For the production of an anvil the first costs are 10^6 (meaning coming with the idea and research). It takes some nerve (see Revision 2) to submit a suggested edit with the summary "fixed grammar" and then add in text speak. SERIOUSLY? Don't use "cuz" in a puzzle here. grr. I didn't reject since they did clean up some other stuff, but goodness am I annoyed.

10:34 PM
aahhh :( I goofed

in Density 4?

yeah, there's a word missing
what's the etiquette for correcting it, do I re-edit the puzzle, or do I simply provide the missing word?

I personally would put a big notice in bold at the top that there is an error and then fix+edit as quick as possible
Will look for a meta post though

Sadly I have experience with this. Since it's been up for a while, I'd....wait for bobble to answer and then agree

I feel so foolish, I thought I had double-checked everything

A: What should I do if I've made a mistake in my question?

leoll2In my personal opinion, if you make a mistake in your problem you have two options: If it's a minor mistake, edit your question as soon as possible. If you can't edit (for example because you aren't at home, or using a phone), kindly explain in a comment your mistake and ask for someone who can...

> If it's a major mistake, which affects the solvability of your problem, you need to hurry to find a fix. Meanwhile, you can keep your post deleted (but I don't advice this option, personally) or put a giant banner at the beginning of the problem saying something like this:

thanks @bobble
