6:00 PM
I find my curiosity satisfied and I will drop it furthermore

6:11 PM
(whenever I stalk someone, I check with them first. Like Standback.)

Stevie Nicks?

@Tech Sunrisers :P

Sid
@BEastly I am embarrassed that I had to google to get that.

6:26 PM
@BeastlyGerbil Warnie :(

@sid.... but your indian aren't you!?

He doesnt follow cricket.

oh ok

Sid
I am one of the very very few people who don't watch cricket..
Actually, I used to watch when I was a kid..

I'm assuming you mean in India, because I know many people that don't watch cricket.

6:28 PM
Oh.. When I was your age I could have died for it @Sid

Sid
@dcfyj Yes. That's what I meant.

I probably know some people that don't even know what cricket is.

Contact round kicking off in the other room, for anyone interested.

@BeastlyGerbil I have 8 subs left and 8 matches to go. Need to chose my subs very carefully hereon

Sid
@dcfyj there are billions of people who haven't ever heard of that.

6:29 PM
I gave a local biologist a cricket once
Which led her to discover that lab crickets and wild crickets act differently
So now she wants to do a study on that or something
I told her that I wanted credit :P

We (my siblings and I) used to feed crickets/grasshoppers to our cats

Q: What will be the last Sudoku number to be filled?

James JenkinsWhen I am completing a Sudoku puzzle, there are always two last numbers to fill. Maybe it is just my puzzle solving approach or maybe it is inherent to Sudoku. I got wondering, would everyone who started the same puzzle be completing the same last two numbers that I did? With what degree of ...

@dcfyj Why?

Why not? they're nutricious

For a cat though?

6:32 PM
I don't see why not, a cat is a carnivore.

I see my cats eating bugs regularly

or at least trying to?
Cats seem to like moths hehe

Probably just the way they flit around

my cat ate grass this morning and threw up

To clean it's stomach, they do that sometimes
grass makes them vomit

6:36 PM
Yech.

^ That might sound funny but I think its true. I remember my cat doing that..

Dogs do it too

I havent seen my dog doing that.. They hardly vomit

My dog is dumb and just eats the grass for fun... I think she thinks she's a cow

6:37 PM
Lol
Has anyone tried lifting a pet..spinning a few times and keeping them back on the ground? :p They behave like humans..

lol, so mean

Are you kidding? I've hoisted my dog up and spun so much neither of us could walk

And thats a cruel thing to do(if more than once)
Haha

She loves (hates) me I think :)

I am thinking to get a new pet.. Its been years I had one
I used to have a lot of puppies/dogs.. And a couple of cats.. Years back..

6:42 PM
Get a puppy and share pictures

Sure. I am looking forward for a shitzu or will get a lab(thought they get fat easily)
Cross breeds have worked great for me always

Adopt don't shop :P

Here in India.. Adoption is a tough job. I have never purchased a pet before as I just used normal cross breeds.. But now if I am thinking of a good breed, I cant find it anywhere for adoption
May be because they are costlier

It's hard to find specific breeds for adoption

Also, I have liked regular cross but just want to experience a lab/shitzu

6:48 PM
Very different dogs

My wife has DEMANDED for it :p No options
Yeah.. Very different.. Lab might be a better option considering the maintainance, health and lifetime..I am not sure about any of these parameters..just feel like labs have an upper hand on these

They usually do
Although if you factor walking/neediness/accommodations than a lab is more than a shitzu in that department

Well, thats more for me too. So that should work fine :)

@Techidiot I don't think that shitzu can even guard the house.

I need to walk a little more.. Work never lets you stay fit until you are into regular gymming
Yeah true. @manshu

6:56 PM
Then you are adopting it to have some fun?

Well many reasons.. To add fun, to add an extra member to my little family..pets are good in many ways other than just fun..
Also I am home alone most of the time..so what could be better than a pet :)

Sid
I am not a "yuge" fan of dogs to be honest..
Cats are much better..

...and let the hot pink bunnies arrive!

@Sid I had an incident with my cat and hence stopped petting it (incident as in accident with my poor cat)
And yes, cats are adorable

@Mithrandir It's looking like it's bumped back?

7:05 PM
@n_palum ?
I was talking about the cat/dog argument.

My screen says nomination begins in 55 minutes now
Ohh

Ok. GaMeN.

Earlier when I posted the 2 hours, and the nomination page it was lined up with about 6 minutes ago, but now it is saying almost another hour

Bye all

In a magazine called Muse, by Cricket media, around 10 years ago, there was a great war. It took place in the reader letters, sent in to the magazine. What was the war about? Whether cats or dogs were better. The war raged on, month after month, with sides being taken and switched, battles won, battles lost.... and then the bunnies arrived. But these were no ordinary bunnies: these were hot pink bunnies!
They took over the letters and invaded, replacing all mention of which was better with their own foul forms. They then lived in infamy, to be a tale to scare newbies and Muses. Alas, with the destruction of Kokonino County, the fearsome hot pink bunny is no more, and they live quietly and peacefully in parallel U.
@Techidiot bye!

7:12 PM
Oh wow

8:01 PM
Hmm I think it was Techi wondering how we get the word out about nominations, and it seems PSE gave us notifications about them

Yep, they'll give you a notification when it's time to vote, too

Just FYI: There's a room to discuss the election specifically:
Not that you can't discuss it here either.

Q: A spartan skeleton Sudoku

ais523A skeleton crossword is a crossword where the black and white squares aren't given; you have to deduce them. Here's a generalisation of that idea to the Sudoku puzzle. Here's a 4 by 4 grid, with four cells shaded: (Just in case you can't see images, here's a text representation of that: I sha...

9:16 PM
People to afraid to be first I guess

9:38 PM
@Sphinx Neat puzzle, but I'm ten minutes slow :)

9:50 PM
@n_palum You have something against ROIST? It's a perfectly cromulent word

That template really doesn't chatbot very prettily. Alas.

@Sconibulus I'm pretty confused by it too. Here are a few observations. In the last block we have what seem to be descriptions of the composition of the human body, the surface of the earth, the crust of the earth, and the sun. Except that they may actually be some alien body, another planet, another star. (The proportions are given inexactly and are rather like ours. Maybe a slightly higher land:water ratio.) ...continues
There are two large masses. One of them is about 1.2 solar masses, one about 0.15 solar masses. (If I've done my arithmetic right.) I don't know of any planets (in our solar system or elsewhere) as heavy as 15 solar masses. I had a quick look for binary star systems with those masses and didn't find any, but I didn't look very hard. ...continues
The previous block is rather weird. 44 always appears followed by a number (usually 1 or 2, sometimes 3). The two occurrences of "element 2" make me suspect this is nuclear physics, including alpha decay; perhaps 44 denotes indexing into a table of elementary particles or something (like with the table of elements). But I'm rather confused by this at present. Especially as the last two sections of the block are full of water and glucose.

10:46 PM
It's curious that the description of what I described as "the crust of the earth" (NB could be the earth as a whole -- or, again, a different planet) doesn't have proportions specified, unlike the "human body" and the "sun".

Oh, right, water, duh
For some reason I did my math using CO2
Yeah, Block 5 was driving me nuts, I kept getting things like A+2=C A1B3 A2B(False)
which I couldn't parse to make any kind of sense out of, and I saw block 5 numbers referenced in block 6, so I didn't really try there
but my scratch paper is at work at the moment
