Q: Why was my puzzle deleted?

narawagamesI have a puzzle (http://puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/36205/dont-press-me-right-here) that received several downvotes. Other users posted comments that said the answer to the puzzle was too obvious, so I tried my best to improve it my making the solution more subtle. But unfortunately the ...

Q: Are our new moderators out of control?

Dan RussellYes, that's a bit of a hysterical title to a post, but I think it's a truly serious issue for the site. Anecdotally, I've been seeing a pattern since the community moderator elections that's bugging me. Basically, it's that the new group of moderators (@Deusovi, @GentlePurpleRain, @Emrakul......

Damn it! Why can't I figure out spoiler tags
About 40% of the time, for no reason I can discern, they end up as block quotes starting with !
other people seem to always manage to find the problem and fix it pretty quickly, so they can't be that complicated

use two spaces or <br> at the end of lines for line break

2:59 PM
@Sconibulus If you have a line break, it'll mess up the spoiler.

You can't spoiler a paragraph?

@Sconibulus You can, you just have to fix it up the way @dcfyj said. Personally, I prefer <br>.

Ahh, so you have to type it like >!Line 1<br>Line 2 instead of

>!Line 1
Line 2

Yeah. :)

hmm, it ate my second space after Line 1
ok, I can probably remember that

3:23 PM
or >! line1 <br>
>! line2
I alternate between the two

@Sconibulus Spoiler tag syntax is horrible.

@Deusovi It's even more fun when you throw in complicated mathJax into it haha

Yeah, sometimes I don't even bother spoilering posts.
I mean, it's not a rule that they need to be.

I try to spoiler all mine, sometimes that leads to me not answer quickly enough to get credit sadly (or should I say all the time since I've not gotten a check? lol I suck at answering these haha)

Should this be a meta?

Q: What's a good way to introduce someone to puzzle-making?

ObviouslyJakeFirst off THIS ISN'T A PUZZLE. It's a question about puzzle making, as the title suggests, though I thought I would make it clear, as I can see someone pout there making a puzzle with such a title. The title is misleading slightly, I want this for my own personal gain, though I feel others would...

I think it's on-topic for the site, as it's about puzzle creation.
Although, I feel like it may end up being considered too broad.

6:28 PM
@Sconibulus That's the kind of question that this site was originally created for.

Oh, ok
it didn't match most of the other questions, so I wasn't certain

@Sconibulus That's why we still have a [Puzzle-Creation] Tag

6:54 PM
@Mithrandir heh, it was Universal Timber until I realized that Universal Timber Company was UTC, and didn't want to leave a false hint :)
so sure, if you can find be a source for Arcturan Mega-Gin

Not sure how many people here are aware of The Master Theorem, but I thought some folks might be interested to know that they seem to have started back up.

@GentlePurpleRain Wow, that's great! I loved TMT!

Q: Riddles on the sand

Laurent Duvalthere's a spoiler on the road... Yesterday, I believe I have read, on The Riddle Sandbox, that a riddle reaching a vote of 7 could make it to the main site. So far, so good. And I remember that the sandbox answer should be cleaned, leaving only the title of the riddle linked to main site, and th...

I'd like to ask, for the sake of knowing whether I'd need to sandbox or not...

If a riddle I were to create, contained ciphers and such, that needed to be completed to reach the answer, would that still need sanboxing?
