8:13 PM
Hi @Alconja

@BeastlyGerbil morning

...can't believe you guys still haven't got deusovi's cryptic.

have you?

Ha. No, I got nothing
Spent a bunch if time yesterday, but expected it done while I slept

8:44 PM
You all want a confirmation or denial of your progress?

How about a hint?

Sorry, on mobile. :P

AH! AK is contagious!

You're on the right track with "western". The words for "seals" proposed so far are all too short.

8:47 PM
How about PINNIPEDS for "seals"?
By "the right track", you mean that western refers to reversing the order of a word?

Coat of arms

Imprisons

Or that it means taking the leftmost parts of words?

Reversing.

8:49 PM
Sconibulus, you've got it!

...A bit too long. :P

So @Deusovi, you're basically telling us that "Parents" is the definition and that we need to find a word for SEALS from which we remove the reverse of a word for GAS in order to get the answer.

One of Rubio's six-letter words is a synonym of the one you're looking for. And yes, I am.

For all: his six-letter words are: gasket emblem emboss secure

well... a gasket is but one type of thingamajig

8:53 PM
Parents = boss?? (verb)

("scepter" has seven letters)

gas = me? (methane?)

@Alconja That's changing tense, or person. It would have to be bosses.

Nah, you'll know the gas when you find it. (Also, conjugation mismatch with parents/boss.)

could 'sire' be what we're looking for?
maybe from some word like signifier

8:57 PM
@Deusovi Yeah, that. Grammar descriptions are not my strong point.
@Sconibulus Again, it would have to be "sires".

^

@Alconja Note that Deusovi said it was a synonym of one of the six-letter words. Not actually one of them.

Too bad Kets doesn't have to do with parents :P

@dcfyj That would ignore the "western" part of the clue, which Deusovi has said means reversing the "gas" word.
Got it! MO(nogra)MS (ARGON backward in MOMS)
Not sure if the syntax is correct for the solution.

that seems like it works
I was working on a definition for MORIAMS (Burying a shameful memory in an anti-structure for non-remembrance)

9:08 PM
@GentlePurpleRain nice work :)

nice job

I just realised something, do 10kers not get review audits?

No, they still do (though possibly less frequently?)

@GentlePurpleRain Yep, that's it!

@Deusovi That was a butt-kick :)

9:17 PM
So its @GPR's turn now :P

CCCC: Backward poetry finishes; heads off remaining executions. (7)
Hopefully this follows all the proper rules; I'm still a relative newbie at cryptic clues.

9:32 PM
@IAmInPLS Does this edit distort the final message?
I assume it does.

huh. I actually didn't notice the steganography tag, which is silly of me because I actually thought to go look for one

@LukasRotter I would say so as he says the rhymes are not important so therefore each individual word is probably important
I rolled back

9:46 PM
I think I'm going to post a steganography puzzle written in horrible English and containing countless spelling errors :) ("Relax, it's part of the puzzle")

I kinda did that once
I left out something like 10% of the letters, and the missing letters were the message to decode
in retrospect, it was a really crappy puzzle, but I think that's mostly because I did like 80% of it on scratch paper during a planning meeting

15 upvotes wouldn't suggest that (considering the somewhat low view count) :P But I think almost all of us think all of our puzzles are bad in retrospect.
Rubio just officially sold out to Crayola.

The hardest part of making a puzzle is not making a puzzle, but rather test it. >_>
I wish there was a tool to check it automatically: "Your puzzle is ready to be published!" - "Your puzzle has a huge flaw here" :D

@LukasRotter Ok, fine, I think the execution was crappy, and I got upvotes because it was a neat idea
(I still like the idea, I just think I did it wrong)

10:02 PM
Lol. I'm a Crayola spokesdroid, totally.
It's what I happened to have in front of me ;)

I didn't know they made anything but Crayons

Crayons, markers, drawing pads if I remember right... all kinds of stuff
I'll use a Wendy's straw next time ;)

10:18 PM
@Alenanno Finding flaws, however difficult, is not as hard as judging difficulty though
Just finished my part of the community puzzle and it's either trivial or impossible (or possibly (hopefully?) somewhere in between)

@Alconja Ehehe you're right, there's that too.
Although I find the "finding flaws" more tedious.

That is true. Definitely more tedious
(to the point that I often get a bit lazy, much to my own detriment)

@Alconja Same here. I do postpone some puzzles because of that lol
@Alconja Want to test something? It's a logic grid puzzle. I need someone else's to give it a try.
I keep testing it trying other values and I'm seeing numbers everywhere.

@Alenanno Sure (though I don't have loads of time). You can guess my email address @gmail.com

@Alconja It won't take you long, it's 8x8... Maybe 10 minutes. Do you need me to send you the rules? Not sure if you're familiar with this kind.
I mean, I expect you to be, but you never know.

10:24 PM
@GentlePurpleRain REVERSE (def: backward, RE, Remaining Executions + VERSE, poetry)
@Alenanno not sure if I'll know the kind until see it :)

@Alconja Ok, sending it.

I just earned rep for both of my accounts here :P

@Alconja Sent.
@Sconibulus My solution to the ropes puzzle:
You're MacGyver, so you use the ropes and pieces of your clothes to build a working clock. — Alenanno 31 secs ago

@Alenanno Got it, but have a meeting now, so will take a look soon
(and I also owe chat a cryptic clue... coming soon)'

@Alconja Sure, thanks.

Q: What did I try to do to you?

oleslaw Do you keep toothpaste in a tube? Can you even decipher the code below? v=dQw4w9WgXcQ What did I try to do to you? Bonus question: Did I succeed?

This barely seems to be a puzzle to me.
I'd close it if my vote wasn't binding.

It was funny, though.

Sure, but not much of a puzzle. And this site isn't really for jokes.

Then how do we explain (chooses someone at random...) Alconja? Heeyyooo

:P

random, eh...

11:12 PM
It was random, too. I chose a random member from the list of chat members. Using this as my random number generator, as I usually do

lol

At the time, @Alconja was the fourth in the list :)
