@MOehm Congrats on 10k rep! :-D

1:15 AM
Seconded. @MOehm is one of the people here whose cleverness in puzzle-solving most frequently impresses me.

@RosieF oh, my dictionary must be way smaller than that one, because I found only 30 or so

Is this question on topic? " What is the largest perfect square that divides 2014^3-2013^3+2012^3.....+2^3-1^3?

6:33 AM
sounds to me like an exercise in using a computer to brute-force an answer to an arithmetic trivia question, unless there's some clever trick to doing it

6:53 AM
Well, you are not allowed to use a computer.

7:30 AM
@Sid Unless I've made a mistake (which is entirely possible) it is possible to make progress with only school-level maths and no computer. I'd vote to reopen if I could find the thing.

yeah i mean there are some relatively simple equations for sums of odd and even cubes, which you can apply to the problem. even at that, knowing them feels more like "can you Google" than a puzzle per se to me, but then again, there's been several such problems posed recently and the community seems ok with that.

Year after year, I disrespect time, Don't keep looking and waste your prime, A lot happens underneath, You just have to look beneath. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day, I don't care if you think I lost. Oh! I must tell you - I'm not a good host. Don't lose tenacity an...

And can anyone explain how this is too broad? I agree it's an old question but it's been haunting me for quite some time... puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/40417/…

I found a card of a company which must be several years old when cleaning my house. On this card, there is a riddle and I just can't figure it out. The code is the following: k5aRhdGZ15HNz87JkZaR1Z6/m4aRnouNnpya0ZyQkg== I am pretty sure it's something base64 encoded, however I can't decode it ...

I got a card with a text from a software company, and it tells me to decode it. The only thing written on the card is the following code: bWpvey9vam9rYjMxMjZBZXpvYnVzYmRmL2Rwbg== Might be Java related

Heh - apparently this is an annual thing :-P

@Randal'Thor Thanks. I see the ghosts of deleted messages everywhere now. `:)`

@ArbitraryKangaroo Do you have a code or a software that automatically deletes your comments? Or do you like it?
@MOehm Congrats on getting 10k...

@ArbitraryKangaroo: I actually meant answers, not comments. My necromancy is lost on your comments. `:(`
@Sid: Thanks.

@ArbitraryKangaroo Don't get me wrong, (And if you do, I apologise)Now, I am no expert, but instinctively, It looks like you are suffering from an inferiority complex. Chill man, no one is here to judge you on the comments that you post.

@Sid: Hell, (Well, I don't get you wrong, of course :) its somehow completely obvious that I am extremely stupid to most of the people here (I am not comparing myself, as comparison had always produced hyper-nonsensical afterresults for me). So yeah, you are probably right.

user189275
But still, there are puzzles to rejoice, and to experience the beauty, and to get frustated solving it, irrespective of any other conditions.

@ffao What the heck is that PNG ? This is returning nothing (excepting the obvious meaning, of course) useful.

8:25 PM
@MOehm congrats on 10k

Well, the fortnight is doing great so far... I'll probably post one tomorrow, and I hope next week will do better. (This comment is only here for "promotion" purposes, because I'm actually interested what mechanical-puzzles people can come up with)
