This isn't gonna go anywhere. As much as I'd like to fool myself into believing that SE is different to other sites, it really isn't. This site is mostly moderators+high rep users controlling nearly everything. Answers to such problems will always follow their line of reasoning no matter what the community actually thinks/says. Not very different to most other sites

I do not understand your point, since clearly I have for example agreed with what multiple users have put forward here, including mechanodroid, Elliot Yu and the original poster themselves.

You are painting somewhat of a black and white picture which is definitely not the case, as this whole discussion showed.

@Pedro I think its clear from the context that by "community" I meant to refer to those outside of "mods+high rep guys". Even still, only a few high rep guys are worth taking seriously here (according to this issue) as far as I can tell. If I sound cynical, that's because, despite my rather short time on SE, I've seen a multitude of such issues that all follow a similar conclusion, with everyone else just being ignored and thrown to the side

@Pedro the point is very simple. Please do not edit a FACTUAL personal anecdote, just because one high rep user is offended. If this is contentious then you've proven my point above

Other than that, you're free to disagree completely. Like I said, SE is no different to other sites, and like other sites, I know arguing further would be wasting a few precious seconds of my remaining life span.
