@Wolgwang What does 2020 have to do with it? The spoiler on the winter bash hat list only says Comment under an answer to your own question - the question must have a positive score. But, yeah, it's totally unclear whether a comment under a self-answer should count as Dialog, which is why I asked.
Yeah. So I can confirm that reparenting if you already have the hat will just award the hat again, so any data you've collected about it with subsequent sites on chat.se is bad data.

It is going to forever be on my mind that "Helping Heart" is harder than "Helping Arm," but appears earlier on the list in public... and a bit of surprise that Helping Arm seems to be more common now than Helping Hand.
@Wolgwang close but not quite. You're touching on some aspects, missing one aspect and have something extra (if I'm understanding your guess correctly).

If I am the first reviewer, and I edit it (either approving or rejecting), does it count for something?
@RafaelTavares The intent was to reward consistent agreement with other curators - if there are no other curators to agree or disagree with, the review doesn't count towards the hat.
@EkadhSingh-ReinstateMonica if you want to investigate, I got the two pirate hats after my edit was approved here . I upvoted, suggested an edit to the answer, it was approved and upvoted by another person (probably after the edit was approved, but I'm not sure)
There are a couple implementation details I wouldn't expect you to get - for posterity, the trigger is worded in the doc as: "Have a conversation in chat: at least 5 distinct blocks of messages [sent] in chat in one room [in] a day"

@RafaelTavares Yeah, I wrote it that way so that spamming messages wouldn't count - some degree of organicity to the conversation would be required to get the hat. But it also made it trickier to discover what exactly was happening.
@Wolgwang Believe it or not, that's actually a bit too restrictive. You're very, very close, but the hat has been awarded in cases that haven't gone as far as you've listed.
Anybody knows if the Manual Key trigger works on mobile? I copied some text but didn't got the hat (the question has the [discussion] tag). I'm using Chrome 96.0.4664.101 in iOS 15.
@YaakovEllis I'm not convinced that copying for the "Manual key" hat is working on touchscreen phones, do you have a phone that you can test it on? Thanks.

Hmm. I think if y'all look for a few more examples for the Helping series you'll narrow it down quick. Helping Finger has been awarded a bunch. Helping Hand less so (it is harder), but there are still at least a couple dozen awardees.
I need help verifying a trigger but that involves asking for an upvote on one of the main sites. Is it fine to do that here? One can always take back the vote later if they think the post doesn't deserve it
@hkotsubo I copied something on my Android (Chrome) and didn't get the Manual key too. Maybe it's worth creating a bug report on MSE for further investigation
