Well, second chemo done, ok so far, we'll see - here's a couple of questions though; a) I fancy buying myself a 'cheer up' present, just one, I know I could get both but that's being spoiled, so it's either a small'ish train set (never been into them before but I saw a nice one) or one of those AR.Drone 2.0 helicopter things - which one should I get? and also has anyone been on the Venice-Simplon Orient Express and if so was it worth it?
It's the classic problem with one company acquiring another; the buying company fundamentally does not understand the bought company's business model - they end up alienating all of the bought company's valuable customers, can't figure out why, then try to adapt the business model to something their familiar with. Their paying customers (advertisers) have started figuring this out... notice how intrusive the ads have gotten (in an attempt to appease the cashflow source)

I have a linux server (running Ubuntu 12.04 Server currently) that I need to set up multiple hard drives of differing sizes in primarily for media/backup purposes.
The sizes are:
1x2TB
1x1TB
2x500GB
2x3TB

@tombull89 1. I'm not running Windows on these systems. 2. I've used Handbrake and found it to be extremely limiting (I've spent a lot of time customizing codec knobs)... I probably aught to look at it again for these however... at least to get the file size down
I'm going to put a plexiglass protector over my screen in the mornings, and label it the TomTom defender otherwise the coffee I spit out each after reading one of his answers is eventually going to stain my screen.
One of my guys got a major promotion this morning - just talked to him and I genuinely couldn't be happier, he's a great guy and has been picking up a lot of my slack while I've been away - I'm literally full of joy
@ewwhite Yeah, had to buy a ~$15,000 server for it all. Not that I paid anywhere near retail, but it's still kinda depressing when I think about how much I've spent on the media in the first place, and then to get it into a format I use... I could be driving a much, much nicer car instead.
@RobM Yeah, big promotion too - about another £25k/pa, car, more holidays, better pension rate, home phone/broadband, better health insurance etc. really worthwhile

@ChrisS not pain for me, LOTS during and after the surgery, including raw morphine which was fucking ACES, but none now, lots of anti-nausea and antibiotics though
they don't like you drinking or anything while you're on almost any drugs these days as it can change how they work or how strong a dose you get. Just a fact of life :-( my drinking's going to be seriously limited over christmas

@Chopper3 That's the one. Two 27" IPS monitors, one normal 27" monitor, and a 60" plasma... all hooked in at once. It's... awesome. Just need to find a way to work from home, and I'll be set.

@MDMarra If the auto site linker thiny is turned on, then you don't have to create site links manually. It's on by default, but there were plenty of issues with it in previous versions of Server, especially with slow inter-site links. So many organizations disabled it.
