it had potential -- kinda fucked over by constant flashback-ing with the characters (that bugs me), if it was allowed to go into a second season and explore the NOW-plot development it probably would have been great
These are like - we've got some astronauts. One is having drama. Let's have a flashback to a time in training when this same astronaut had similar drama, and gives a stilted explanation that's obviously contrived
in the immortal words of The Robot Devil, "You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me fee angry! "
I don't think B5 gets enough credit for that - JMS almost never resorted to contrived "Here, let me waste 10 minutes of a 45 minute story giving you stilted exposition" crap
and I think that made it all the more rewarding when we DID find things out (cough*Ivonova*cough)
Claudia Black too now that I think about it... but that could just be the hot outfits they dressed her in as Aeryn Sun - she wasn't quite as hot in SG1
