@GeorgeBailey Yeah, that sounds reasonable. Back when I did it, logs were written using syslog and I had a parser that was tailing the logfile and stuffing things into SQL. So even if the parser died for some reason, syslog would still be working.

@GeorgeBailey You might have two logs at the same time, one that's directly to SQL and an other that's the old standard log format.

Careers will soon be merged into Stack Overflow. Currently there’s only 2 kind of jobs on careers, developers and sysadmins. The fact that this own site is already linked to so makes sysadmin jobs are rare. The new change will put an end (in practice) to the idea of advertising non programming ...
