@Wesley I live in the tax zone of one city, but have an address and am in the school district of another. It wasn't until tax time that I realized they were paying out to the city of my address and not of my residence.
@RyJones It's all together weird anyway, since I work in one city but live in another my work city is getting most of the taxes and the leftovers go to where I live.
@RyJones As opposed to life, yeah. That's standard alimony settlements in Ohio at least.
So I imagine I'll be filing with both cities. One will be a 100% refund, one will be a 100% payout each of the same amount of cash.
@RyJones Well, I need to sew up all this crap tonight. Then I will probably literally sleep all day tomorrow after all this emotional energy being spent angry, and now realizing that even my back invoices probably won't get paid.
@MarkHenderson That would almost assuredly end up with him attempting legal recourse. Since no contract is in place, we're both in a Mexican standoff, daring the other to try to prove anything. I think we'll just walk away and I'll get him for $100 a month in hosting via paypal until I get an address to ship it to.
@RyJones What's sad is that I think he had a good idea, it was just so terribly mismanaged and he has no idea the cost of doing business. Sad to see a potentially good idea just ran into the ground.
@RyJones He lives with his wife on a south pacific island, his "business" (if it's even incorporated which I now doubt) is supposedly in Las Vegas. I know it's just a one man show, but I thought he had a home in Vegas where he used to live with his first wife.
The thing is, that QNAP has the very product that his paying customers demand. So if it's off for even just a few hours, he hears about it and that would probably spur him to some kind of legal action.
@RyJones I was truly planning on brining that scene up to him on the phone convo. "I don't care about your business. I don't care about your future. I do good work, I get paid. I get paid on my terms, on my time frame. Did you ever see Goodfellas?"
But now, no phone convo. Only email so that it's documented and all icy pseudo-legalize.
@strugee If they're anything liuke the PNG army they make you delete the photos from the camera, but didn't confiscate the memory card so you just undelete them later

@JourneymanGeek because memorizing limited subsets of information for limited situations is apparently a substitute for actually being able to think and RTFM in context
@tombull89 You could show your contempt by interviewing for another company.
