Edmund White endorsed you for:
Bind
4
@MichaelHampton you probably don't know anything about Bind.
@MichaelHampton I think that's an insult
@MichaelHampton I wanted to endorse him for porn, but linkedin didn't let me :(
@MichaelHampton better than Twerking
@ewwhite Actually I know a few things about bind.
I certainly don't know anything about twerking.
23:02
@MichaelHampton you should learn.
Is there some Red Hat documentation on it?
@MichaelHampton Likely not. Ubuntu has some, though.
@ewwhite Yeah, in that case, I think I'll pass.
@MichaelHampton If you search enough, you can probably find a twerking documentary that includes somebody wearing a red hat...
@freiheit Indeed, i did...

Q: Was the "Worst Twerk Fail EVER - Girl Catches Fire!" video staged?

EmmettCaitlin Heller posted a video on Youtube titled "Worst Twerk Fail EVER - Girl Catches Fire!". There have been many articles about it, e.g. Telegraph; NY Daily News; AJC. Was it staged? I watched it over 10 times in a row nonstop, and I'm still not sure. It may be real because Glass table bro...

Now I know something about twerking...
inb4 ed posts link to uk twerking championships
Ed is our twerking SME
If there was a certification he'd be the one who signed the certificate
actually, I just had an ESXi host fail.
gulp...
was it a Dell? we had a Dell ESXi host fail on us last week
23:09
@ewwhite Had that happen a couple weeks ago, here. It's part of why I hate Dell.

I finally found where @MichaelHampton works
23:17
@ewwhite Got enough capacity on esx[23] to handle everything? Did everything just migrate and come back up, or is this creating immediate work?
@PatoSáinz Every sysadmin's workplace should have a martini or pint glass as the logo on the map. ;)
@PatoSáinz you have the toolbar at the top?
Anonymous
@tombull89 the taskbar? yes
And there's plenty of failover capacity. HA restarted the VMs
Anonymous
I love it that way

23:19
@ewwhite oh god my eyes, at lest microsoft got it right by using blue
Anonymous
@tombull89 you don't?
Not enough resources to failover this virtual
machine. vSphere HA will retry when resources
become available.

MSSQL
And that's why you disable admission control
@ewwhite Driver bug or hardware fault?
@PatoSáinz It's the fuschia screen of death. You want a color that makes your eyes die, right?
@PatoSáinz nope, bottom, use small icons and never combine.
Anonymous
23:20
@tombull89 what do you mean by combine?
Hmmm, client added a lot of new virtual machines since I looked last.
thus HA is fucked up
so VMware admission control messed me up
@ewwhite Sounds like the control needed to be on with n+1/failover enforcement for VM creation...
@freiheit well, the N+1 was based around a certain number of VMs... client went nutty adding things.
23:28
@ewwhite I don't recall what the setting is called, but our vSphere environments get all whiny if you try to add VMs/RAM past the N+1 HA limits... (really easy to just dismiss the dialog, though)
@freiheit it's really poorly configured... the HA features of VMware are documented well, but misunderstood by most.
Anonymous
@tombull89 you do that because it's quicker?
for me, it's quicker, yes. rarther than mouse to icon, wait for list of items to open, find the one you want and then click on it it's just one click
Anonymous
@tombull89 Combination really comes handy when you've got a thounsand terminal windows/tabs
to be honest, I never have that much open.
outlook, helpdesk, browser, remote desktop session and vsphere client. Maybe Explorer or a cmd as well.

let's play botnet bingo!
Anonymous
@PatoSáinz how are they defining botnet.
Anonymous
@Zoredache Things you have installed and/or use and Richard Stallman Wouldn't approve of
@PatoSáinz It says I use 0 botnets. Nothing is marked.
23:47
@PatoSáinz That Stallman wouldn't approve of? Good lord, I might as well just live in a cave.
@MichaelHampton you have to click the things you use.
Um, OK... so it's yet another devops project with no documentation, eh?
Okay. Fixed the vSphere cluster.
@MichaelHampton they gave you the source code. It is self-documenting.
MegaCli is the least usable command line utility ever devised. — ewwhite 9 mins ago
@ewwhite That's how you know it's enterprise.
23:52
Hmm... I'm in a @MichaelHampton situation.
All the rep points... except the 5 I need to round out the day
have an upboat
Hey, I got a grand total of 40 rep today.
@MichaelHampton work harder!
@ewwhite I am... just not on SF.
ok I gave you two upboats which is like 10 karma
23:57
haha
thank you
as I dig myself out of VMware crashland
your ssd answer will actually be useful in an argument I'll be having next week, and the user deletion issue is on that I could have used a while ago
so it's not like I'm Skeeting rep all over the place
@RyJones what's the SSD argument?
we're trying to make the argument to move our new vmware cluster over to ssds, at least paritally
the counter argument seems to be "but they suck and go bad a lot"
