@voretaq7 Yes. That. Infinite scrolling is the work of the devil.
@ScottPack Even Satan doesn't hate us that much
seriously though, whoever thought that was a good idea needs to be removed from the gene pool.
@ScottPack
Doesn't Disquss, or whatever, use infinite scrolling?
@MikeyB What the fuck is wrong with you people?
@TheCleaner Some people, like CMS admins for a University, just like to watch the world burn.
17:07
@ScottPack Don't ask questions you know the answer to...
@voretaq7 Sometimes the question just needs to be asked.
@MichaelHampton You got that wrong. Let me put it this way, can 2 fragmented packets be interlaced? My intuition says that it can't, but I'm not sure. I'm not reinventing the wheel, what my app does is to perform NAT-based load balancing between the TAP interface and 2 or more physical interfaces. And that requires handling possible fragmented IP packets. — Chris 34 mins ago
Set phasers to KILL
@ScottPack how much time do you have? (:
@RebeccaChernoff Oh you.
@RebeccaChernoff AAH! DEVELOPER!
<HIDES>
17:14
oy (;
@MichaelHampton I wonder how much money they're actually saving by devoting an developer's time to something they could buy from F5.
@RebeccaChernoff you're not a SE mod/employee/staff/whatever anymore?
@pauska no.
17:34
@MichaelHampton wtf
Woah, it's @RebeccaChernoff
blast from the past
@DennisKaarsemaker . . . and this is why Spock and Uhura shouldn't be dating.
@voretaq7 hey, he tried to get out of it by jumping into a volcano...
@DennisKaarsemaker and clearly that didn't work!
17:42
finally, logging in here is a bitch nowadays
is @chopper3 around? :)
@voretaq7 only because kirk is an idiot
@MDMarra yo yo (:
GAH
You still haven't straightened out your emoticons
yeah, I haven't been an employee for a year.
@MDMarra haha (:
NEVER!!
oooh ello again
17:47
@RebeccaChernoff you do that just to creep @wesley out don't you? Like petting a cat backwards...

At 3pm I get to ask the question "Why have you scheduled one of my engineers for 38 hours of work from Mon-Wed and then expect him to start a fresh project at 8am on Thursday?"
So, that will be fun
would appreciate feedback on this one from anyone: serverfault.com/questions/567208/ucs-fc-adapter-aborts
@SpacemanSpiff no clue, but have an upvote :P
I always had fiber monkeys to deal with that sort of issue in the past
thx! its baffling us, i think its a hardware issue, personally
its really fun seeing Cisco and EMC duke it out
It does sound like you're hot-spotting the fabric. do you have an actual fabric with lots of switches?
you could check the CPU/queueueueue/port stats on the switches to try to figure out where the traffic is coming from
17:52
You didn't happen to purchase this all at once as a vBlock have you? I've found that vBlock support is a bit better than TAC with these things. — MDMarra 1 min ago
@voretaq7 heh heh
@MDMarra Y U NO LOVE TAC?!
Judging by your "duke it out" comment, I'll take that as a "no" to the vBlock question
oh, you've interacted with them....
@voretaq7 I've only really needed them for .11 problems
17:53
@MDMarra - architect originally suggested vblock, got overruled
Once you get to L2 they were fine
@SpacemanSpiff ah
we're trying to use the vblock versioning matrix to figure out what to normalize things on, its kind of a clusterfuck right now
It's actually kind of a fun problem to work through
Just wish it was more of a performance issue than a stability thing.
@MDMarra I've got 99 problems, then I called TAC. Now I've got 99 problems and awful hold music.
@SpacemanSpiff if I were in the office, I'd ask some of our storage guys (we're EMC and Cisco partners) but alas - I am not in the office
17:56
@MDMarra - next time.
@MDMarra Where's the problem?
If it's still not resolved by next week, I'll show some people :)
But hopefully not
@ScottPack I should have mentioned. He'll get home around midnight on Thursday AM and have to be at the next customer at 8am the next day
And that customer is at least 1h away
And that fucking sucks
Well, we've got TAC engaging their MDS support, and so is EMC. I think we'll get somewhere soon. I do believe one problem is G2 crossbar with G3 linecards
17:58
@MDMarra Has he tried whining some more? It might help.
Ha
He hasn't whined
Which I actually think is part of the problem
Speaking as a public employee I can tell you that not whining is definitely a problem.
$magic = $magic->MOREMAGIC;
Yes, this is actual perl code...
Of course it is. Perl's voodoo is its biggest selling point.

@DennisKaarsemaker @ScottPack praise perl
I loathe perl

@DennisKaarsemaker What are you? Belgian?
Woah, Windows Server Deduplication is supported on VHD(X)s on Server 2012 R2
@ScottPack only â…›
@PatoSáinz Announce is different than "Release"
@DennisKaarsemaker Based on those comments I should have known.
It's probably Threshold, which has been rumored for a while at a 2015 release
Anonymous
@MDMarra I know
Anonymous
and yes it's Threshold
Anonymous
18:07
but it's still interesting how they are already looking forward
Ah, thats actually exactly what the article says lol
Of course they are. They were working on Threshold features before 8.1 went RTM
tick/tock and all that
And after that it will be Windows X
Anonymous
lol^
@DennisKaarsemaker Will the logo have snazzy glasses and make inspiring speeches?
@ScottPack DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS

18:11
Easy boy.
Yes, Windows X, then they'll have . release iterations
and so the circle shall complete
when they first met, windows was but the learner, but now the master
@SpacemanSpiff Then Apple will sue Microsoft for using "X" in their name
Probably, hahaha
Anonymous
@NathanC seriously?
Anonymous
I mean it's just a roman number lol
18:14
@PatoSáinz Idk, people have sued for that type of stuff
Like, Monster sued a fishing website because it was "monsterfishing..."
@voretaq7 That looks under-developed :p
@NathanC Instant Developer - Just Add Water.
Sometimes I miss the smell of the darkroom. Then I remember what happens to long time darkroom techs and stop missing it.
@NathanC I'm surprised Apple hasn't sued Malcolm X for trademark infringement.
@ScottPack . . . what happens? Just wear fucking gloves and don't be stupid
(says the guy who is going to probably die from all the chemicals he's been exposed to - photo chemistry is by far the least of my worries :-x)
18:26
Also, just throwing this out there w.r.t. Monster.
@voretaq7 I'm not entirely convinced that physical contact is all it takes for some of those things.
@ScottPack Malcolm X was long before Apple...and software != person :p
@NathanC I fail to see the relevance of either of those statements.
@SpacemanSpiff how can I help?
@ScottPack Heh... engadget.com/2008/03/03/…
@ScottPack You're right...people will sue for stupid things because they can
@NathanC Well done.
18:30
@Chopper3 - any input you have on this: serverfault.com/questions/567208/ucs-fc-adapter-aborts would be appreciated
@SpacemanSpiff looking now
@SpacemanSpiff can you describe your servers a bit more please?
Cisco B200M2 and B200M3 blades with M81KR or VIC1240 adapters respectively
They run mostly ESXi 5.1, and a handful of Windows 2008R2 and 2012 baremetals
Just had a user say Gmail felt cluttered and she missed Lotus Notes. I think I'll go have a drink and ponder my career choice...
@ScottPack First time.
@MDMarra VDI only
18:39
@MikeyB What's your role? Are you the hiring manager or are you a participant in the process?
@ScottPack Sorry, you'll have to be more specific.
@Tanner - I know a lot of people who did their jobs quite well with that.
@pauska Right, because it cant dedupe a file in use
But still, thats new in R2
@ScottPack Participant in the process - evaluating a candidate for technical skills and mesh with the team.
@MDMarra aye
18:40
@MikeyB That's better, at least. It gets easier that's for sure. The hard part is figuring out what to ask.
for non VDI you would use CSV dedup anyways
@ScottPack For a 15-ish-person company it's a lot less of a hiring "process"
@MikeyB Ah, yeah, I can see that. We're a big enough shop that there's usually 5-7 people on the committee. A mix of technical, team lead/managers, and an HRy person.
Oh yes, about to sample the @BreweryOmmegang Wild at Heart. I am excite. /cc @beerops http://t.co/ycUodP82vA
@Hennes - I like their beer.

Q: How to make female chest look bigger

user2664856When photographing women they often want the chest to appear as big as possible. I tried with light coming from different positions but was not satisfied with the results. Are there any tricks to achieve this ?

@SpacemanSpiff I was a little thrown by the use of 9513's with the 8x10Gb FCoE adapters over Nexus 5/7K's, took me a while to think about it, presumably you have a lot of FC-only arrays? basically you need to figure out whether this is an uplink issue or a switching fabric issue - and the only way to do that is look at the stats on the 9513/s - you may very well have an uplink problem but the backplane on a 9513 is a) quite old and b) inherently contended from the start
@ScottPack well if you have no vent fan the sulfur oxides from the fixer/blix and the acid from stop bath solutions can be pretty nasty.
18:53
Tough choice: Get a free iPhone 5C from work - or buy a phone out of pocket at full price.
@PatoSáinz Socks.
Anonymous
lol
@voretaq7 Talk to a drag queen for shadowing tips.
@SpacemanSpiff either way you've got to look at your uplink and fabric utilisation stats and try to get a picture of what's going on - give the very wide range of latency spikes I'm going to put my money on it being an uplink/array issue rather than a fabric one but I'm far from certain
@ScottPack they can just put on a bigger pair of boobs
18:54
@voretaq7 Depends on the outfit.
@ScottPack what self respecting drag queen doesn't have a room dedicated to outfits? :P
@cole Are you on the work plan either way?
@MDMarra I will be
Or will buying your own phone come with your own plan that they reimburse for?
Ah
I'll be merging my account with the corp. account
so I get a free iPhone 5C 16GB
or I can buy my own out of pocket
But $600-$700 for a 5S is ouch
18:59
@cole they won't let you just pay the difference between the C and S?
'cuz the C is... Crappy
