@Wolff There is that. I had the same back in high school. One of the computers in the library when I was in middle school (the only computers in the whole building at the time) had a "font creating" program, where you could open ANY font that was installed, modify it by pixel square, and save a new version. I used to have so much fun doing that!
Does this help? Just deleting two points with Direct Selection Tools and then closing the shape using Pen Tool. Holding down shift to make the lines exactly vertical and horizontal.
