Q: What do moderators do these days?

Tim CampionMore than 7 years ago, Scott Morrison asked a great meta question: What do moderators do?, and recorded some useful answers. Some seem to be of general significance, but many of the answers were specific to the period of migration. In light of the current moderator election, I'd like to revive th...

@TimCampion I think starting such discussion is good. Election time is good time to discuss what moderators do (are supposed to do).
To name just one example, I was a bit surprised to see in one of the answers: " helping write a Data Explorer or API query".
Certainly, being able to use Stack Exchange API and SEDE goes above what I consider reasonable expectations from a moderator of a SE site. (I certainly do not fulfill those criteria.)
But apart from this, the other stuff mentioned in Scott Morrison's answers seem very reasonable to me. (In the sense, that it is something I would expect from mods.)
Including other parts of this answer. For example, if I look at the beginning: "We try to spend enough time on meta to ensure that questions requiring our input get answered properly." I am not sure to which extent the mods actually do this. (Maybe I am biased, but Mathematics mods seem to me more active on meta than MathOverflowmods.)
In a previous discussion I have pointed out some posts which do not have any feedback from the MO mods.

Here is an example of a question where probably the mods are more qualified to answer than others: Is there a software solution if we do cut the cord from SE? (Since the mods know how the software was run before joining the SE network.)

Also probably only the mods (maybe only Scott Morrison?) might be able to say whether there is a plan to revive some official copy of : Tea archive (mathoverflow.tqft.net) seems to be down.
There is also unfinished business with deprecated tags - I am not sure whether the mods can do much more there (at least without help from the community), but still it would be nice to know their intentions with those tags.
This is probably not a place to discuss those issues - I am just listing them as examples of posts with no response from mod which could fall under "questions requiring our input".
