@AsafKaragila Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I don't think starting a career as a moderator by breaking an explicitly given promise would be such a great start...
@VladimirDotsenko Was there some response from Pedro Tamaroff whether he plans to run or whether he at least considers it? (I have sent to @PedroTamaroff also an invite to this chatroom - since he was mentioned here , maybe he would like to respond/comment in some way.)

Two points of feedback on the election software: (1) There is a character limit (1200 words) to the candidate statement, but no indication of this until after you try to submit. At minimum it should say what the limit is somewhere on the page, even better if something were to turn red when you go over or something like that. (2) The candidate statement is written in the new rich text editor. It's okay I guess, but I still don't like it.
@PedroTamaroff Well, I'm mostly being sullen :) They don't have any kind of latex capabilities built into it yet and there's some consternation about what will eventually be included when they roll it out here. Of course, that's irrelevant to the candidate statement. But I did dislike that when I wanted to put something in italics, I had to either hunt for a button to do it, or switch to markdown and use underscores. I opted for the latter.
On MO, we generally expect users to be accustomed to writing in latex, so the learning curve for markdown is generally thought to be small.
But the current reliance on markdown is possibly an issue with "welcomingness". It would be interesting to hear some feedback from new users
@MartinSleziak Yes, I noticed that one and said to myself "Isn't that 'Martin's job'" these days ;). I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been more discussion on that question.
I'm joking of course -- the great things you do on here are not something I would want to take for granted!
