@Farhan What does stay awake mean?
17:13
@Dan Preventing room to freeze because of inactivity.
I guess it's gotten pretty quiet around here.
@BretCopeland Is this your bot?
You haven't talked for a long time.
I feel like a bot would be more talkative.
Sometimes it feels that the golden age of this room has passed.
Well, Stack has gone through some rough times lately, largely of their own making. I'm sure that has some bleed-over effect on the smaller sites too. It also just isn't so new anymore.
17:22
Yeah, I've been busy with life too. Weren't able to pay much attention, but I do pop in a few times a week.
It seems like the Q&A site itself is pretty active though, which is nice to see.
Once in a while I pop in when there's a shuttle question.
Your shuttle video is popular.
Saw it somewhere being highlighted.
More popular than I ever imagined.
You are not in NY anymore?
I'm still in NY. Brooklyn.
I left Stack almost two years ago, but I'm still living the same place I was.
17:30
You still fly?
I haven't in a while. The inconvenience of getting out to the airport was starting to overtake the enjoyment I was getting. I would still like to go again, but probably not during the pandemic.
I'm excited about the new MS Flight Simulator coming out in a couple weeks.
I set up XPlane 10, but now 11 is released.
I never felt like X-Plane was as enjoyable. It's okay, but the scenery is generic and boring. Airplanes in it always feel a little more unstable than I think they should be.
17:46
There are a lot of upgrades which make it much better, but also cost money.
When I researched, both have pros and cons. I felt XPlane better, so went to it.
Probably it's same as Android/Apple, Nikon/Canon etc.
Yeah, I'm not willing to spend money to upgrade every single airport and area individually. That's king of why I'm excited about the new Microsoft sim, since it's the best real-world scenery I could imagine at this point.
I mean, I think X-Plane has been the best available for a while given how outdated FSX is, but I still never cared for it too much.
FSX is now owned by Lockheed?
Possibly. I feel like I heard something about that.
Have you heard from voretaq?
He disappeared a long time ago.
I see him say things on Twitter, but I haven't talked to him in a long time.
17:53
Good to know. I wasn't sure what happened that he stopped coming here completely.
