Q: Why aren't people trying to answer my questions?

sai tejaI mean for my past few questions, people have been correcting my mistakes but no one offers to help. I get it I made mistakes but people just criticise my questions rather help me solve a problem. I expect better from this forrum. My questions do get upvotes but remains unanswered.

meh, that's only them turning off the AoA disagree warning: I don't think it would have made a difference here
that Aeroflot crash is pretty horrific

it would require training the pilots about the mcas response to a faulty AOA. Which I've been told does not fit cleanly into the safety hierarchy.

@ratchetfreak given that in the Ethiopian case we know they followed the runaway stab checklist, and it looks like they didn't follow the IAS disagree checklist, what would they have done differently with an AoA disagree warning?

11:56 AM
very likely nothing.

@quietflyer When you ping somebody, the chat box or comment will often not display their name properly for a few moments, then it will display it. The space in a user name is relevant if you type the space: @quiet flyer will not work. If you type @qu and click on the little pop-up link, that will work to notify the user, and you'll see that it appears without the space in it.
@Federico wow...

1:31 PM
@FreeMan -- OK, I see now that I must not include the space. Thanks.
So in this case "Free Man" is called the user name and "FreeMan" is called, what, the tag? Are they ever more different than the fact that there is no space in the tag? The guy I'm trying to ping, I don't see any tag pop up at all when I start to type the first letters of his user name.

@quietflyer that can be if they did not enter the chat room in the last 2 (3?) days.
you can also click the small arrow at the end on the right of a message they posted (next to the star) to directly reply to them and be sure they get a notification

@JohnHutchinson -- give a reply if you get this-- I'd like to ask if you still have a physical copy of this document, I'm interested in getting a scan or photocopy of it.
ok thanks

no, they will not be notified because they never joined chat
you can leave a comment under their post inviting them to chat

2:15 PM
OK, got it. And any time you leave a comment under a question or answer, the original author of that question or answer automatically gets the comment in their inbox even if you don't type the "at" and their tag, right? (At least assuming you don't type someone else's.)
@Federico Ah the small arrow-- didn't notice that before

@quietflyer If you comment on an answer, the person who wrote the answer gets the comment, even if you do @ someone else as well

3:53 PM
Thanks for clearing all that up.
