@TomMcW what's "an FBO"? seen this acronym several times but I have no idea where it comes from

Fixed-base operator. It's described there.
uh, yeah, you're right :D I should have searched
There's an FBO at Sparta called "Sparta FBO". That one's pretty easy to remember. :D

Q: Could you control an A320 in space?

CloudIf you were flying an A320 in space, (say it was built on a low atmosphere planet or on the moon to actually get into space) could you actually control which direction it goes in? I presume that flaps, trim, etc. would be useless, since they all rely on airflow, but would there be any other way ...

Well, that's an interesting question.
The only way that anything can control its direction of travel ever is by pushing and pulling on other matter. In space, this means only two things affect your direction of travel: gravity, and matter that you jettison away from yourself.
Gravity is completely uncontrollable, so in order to control an A320 in space, you need to launch matter away.
An A320 doesn't have any equipment for doing that that's usable outside the atmosphere.

Hmmm.
Cloud just wrote that "Earth's atmosphere will be perversely changed soon" and that "I'm not sure exactly how, but the A320 will need to be modified to work in 1% of our current atmosphere. I also need access to 4 pilots willing to attempt to fly one into space once this happens."
@TannerSwett: I just saw that, and was about to mention it too.
This guy is clearly trolling everyone on Aviation.SE.
I usually give people the benefit of the doubt. My assumption is that he's being sincere and believes that these are reasonable things to say.
So you're of the opinion "deeply mentally ill with delusions"?
@abelenky I'm starting to agree with you... this sounds like the plot to a ridiculous movie.
15:24
@abelenky Pretty much.

Anyone here know the FMS and the AP of the 737?

I have a better question here : aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/54546/…

@abelenky If he's trolling he's the most persistent and creative troll I've ever encountered. How many different reasons has he come up with now to justify assuming control of an airliner? It's always hard to tell the difference, but I really do think he believes this stuff

Either way, I think the right thing to do is just not engage. No pretend psychiatric diagnoses, no heated arguments in comments, just don't engage.

@DanHulme: I only wish people would ignore him. But they keep responding anyway.
@abelenky Be the change you want to see in the world.
